When did I deny I was wrong? I neither confirmed nor denied it. I simply opposed what you said because what you said was dumb.

Notice how I didn't bash Zhukov, who was the one who actually pointed it out, whereas you just kind of tagged along and said something dumb trying to feel smart.

Also, upon inspection, all of Europe is not included in the term. The EU is. However, countries like Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine and Belarus are excluded.

So, to say that the Western World IS Europe is kind of silly.

Notice how you completely ignore the meat of that post, which was basically me apologizing for mis-wording something.

Also, I didn't get any self righteous "I'm smarter than you" feeling out of that. It was more of a "Oh, this looks kind if funny, let me put in my two cents." Like it or not you will always get my two cents, and no amount of your berating will change that.

Anyway, the term "western" did originally come from Europe. It refers to, well... western Europe. As opposed to "the east" (Poland, Russia etc), the "far east" (Asia) and the Middle East.

The reason why places such as America and Australia count as "the west" despite being geographically removed is because they were colonised by western European nations and ended up with predominantly western populations and culture.

So it struck me as a little odd to hear someone lamenting the effects of "western culture" on Europe.
