Re: Real Names
My name is Lukas Orsvärn. A last name that even Swedish people are having a hard time to pronounce. The ä is pronounced like the a in "van". In fact, I'd say the pronunciation of the name is "oosh-van".
So now you know how to pronounce my last name!

What about Damien?Grayswandir wrote:Andy, we should name our child Pestilence, or maybe Famine. Oh, I know, Vlad the Impaler.
Haha, well done, you went above and beyond the call of duty there. Cool name!Silverfish wrote:My name is Lukas Orsvärn. A last name that even Swedish people are having a hard time to pronounce. The ä is pronounced like the a in "van". In fact, I'd say the pronunciation of the name is "oosh-van".

Re: Real Names
Aww, your name's not Russian. I'm disappointed now.
Re: Real Names
I think Murray also sounds kind of badass.
Look at the bright side, atleast you weren't named after a flower.Zhukov wrote:My parents were hippies back in the day. So they went and named me after a river.

Re: Real Names
Well yeah, Andy Murray is a bit of a badass in fairness.
Tragic, I know. I would have made a good Ivan.Renegade_Turner wrote:Aww, your name's not Russian. I'm disappointed now.
Well, the river in question is technically named the Murray-Darling River System. So yeah... it could have been worse.Freshbite wrote:Look at the bright side, atleast you weren't named after a flower.

Re: Real Names
Your middle name doesn't mean "sweet smelling perfume" when translated at least.

Re: Real Names
yeah my middle name means desiring peace, still not as bad as sweet smelling perfume, I think that would be an awkward one given the last name and all.
Re: Real Names
My name is Hugo, like the fat guy in lost
Re: Real Names
My name is Anton... but you might have figured that out by now...
hmm...
Sometimes people like to try to guess what my "real" first name is...
H. Anton A. Riehl
Although, that's a game that's more fun in person...
I've actually become more and more bored trying to make up fake names for the internet, and in the past few years tried to use my real name at all times. (Similar to Wolf's blog, which was an awesome post...) Of course, trying to sell my name as a product has had a strong effect on that desire.
Congratulations on finally getting to know each other.

My friend Conor recently found out his girlfriend Imelda's name means "Universal Battle" or something. I laughed hard.Grayswandir wrote:Your middle name doesn't mean "sweet smelling perfume" when translated at least.
Never watched Lost, but the name Hugo does make me think of a large burly man. Odd.Hugolin wrote:My name is Hugo, like the fat guy in lost
Haha, it is kinda crazy that we all knew each other by fake names on the internet. The more I thought about it the more bizarre it became, so I had to find out people's names.ariehl wrote:My name is Anton... but you might have figured that out by now...

It's funny though, because you're making a conscious effort to use your real name whereas me and most other people on this forum seem to be making a conscious effort to NOT use our real names. I think my avoidance of mentioning my surname stems from a paranoia of potential employers looking up my full name and finding some dirt on me which makes them not employ me. You might say this could be easily remied by watching what I type on the internet, but I don't like being restricted in that way. =P
