Ahh yes. On the PC, this is one of the few games where it actually loads too fast (given that you have a good enough gear), despite how ridiculous that may sound. The random, rotatable 3D Model is actually that impressive and interesting to make the loading screens something of an addition to the game, rather than something you want to skip. I've never seen Loading Screens so well done before, others have tried (and failed), but this is too good to not notice.

I'm just going to add another thing. You will miss out on so much awesome stuff if you don't (preferably with a magic-based character) seek out the College of Winterhold.

I'm just saying.

Frost dragon came after me. I hit it with a few arrows and some spells, then it flew away for some reason.



As I ran after it, I watched it descend on a mammoth, pissing off the nearby giant, who teamed up with me as one of his mammoths hid up a tree.

I'm surprised the giant didn't decide to play football with you after it got done fighting the dragon. They normally attack anyone who has a weapon out or gets near them.

Dragons seem to have a really short attention spans. A dragon decided to light me on fire mid-conversation, circle overhead a few times and then flew off and double-teamed a giant that was being shot by a Orc mage.

Another dragon managed to royally piss off the horse I was riding around and got the crap kicked out of it. The horse distracted the dragon for the entire battle and even managed to get in the killing blow.

At first I was having trouble getting through this dungeon because of the 20 overpowered Silver Hand groupies inside, then I went beast mode. Literally.

I've actually found it to be to the contrary. Giants seem to just want to be left alone. They'll viciously defend their territory and their herd, and their herd will, amazingly, defend them. But they won't attack you unless you invade their personal space or become aggressive.

Friend showed me this, it's from A Song Of Ice And Fire:

I've had giants help me against dragons, then promptly start chasing me while I'm trying to nab the soul. I guess that's how the AI works, once they go into aggressive mode the player is fair game, regardless of trigger.

Other than that, the giants will generally leave you alone unless provoked. I usually return the favour. Except the one at Secunda's Kiss that I killed for a bounty. Which made me kind of sad since he didn't seem to be bothering anyone. But then he respawned about a minute later, which kind of ruined it. Maybe they're like the Yetis in Discworld.

Unrelated: Is there any use for the scales and bones that you can collect off the dead dragons, or should I just sell them? I've got like 20 of each sitting in a chest.

You can make Dragon armor with them. Dragonplate Armor is the second best heavy armor in the game next to Daedric (so there's really no use for it ironically enough) and Dragonscale Armor is the best light armor.
