Since we're talking about rights, can someone change my title to This title is pointless?

who cares about signatures and avatars, as long as they aren't huge, annoying or too nasty (or too nice) in any way, anyways?

(it's not like they're using much bandwidth... especially not if the avatars are located on another server...)

Please can we get sigs with pics. Forums usually load fast, so pics arn't that much of a problem. And isn't there some option where you can make it so just you dont see avitars and sigs?

yes, it loads fast if you're n broadband, but think about ppl wit dialup! it's too inconsiderate. Beside, that would throw us even further into being a junkie forum, especially if they're filled up with pics of 'ninja gaiden player'

Hey Nayr, we know you have slower internet speed but, I have an older comp...this comp doesn't even load this place half the time...please, no sigs...

Yes, because people can choose not to click on a World of Warcraft thread, but when somebody has a 600x200 signature that shows up wherever they post.. you can't choose to ignore that.
Unless of course you add a rule to your browser to not load that image.

mine is inactive of course, but it says "bush eats babies"

What's the point of not having signatures when you can just set a script to copy and paste it in every post you make?

The point is that it's obvious that way that signatures are not welcome here. This is our culture in these forums. Adapt.

And there's nothing wrong with having two different modes. That's why a lot of other forums do have two different modes. This isn't one of them though. I hope that helps!

Yea, but the real intention of this post was "im gonna copy and paste it in every post anyway ... see ... that's why you should change it to spare me the hassle of working around it"

Its more of a plea to implement sigs rather than a "its futile to not have them" post ...

i can see that most of the mods dislike signatures because they "slow down the forum" or "eat bandwidth" but seriously, how do you think the internet works? It can't be 1.5 to 2MB per second for everyone.
