Romantically Apocalyptic

I found a wonderful web-comic yesterday as I was browsing the interwebs, and thought I would share. It's hilarious, and each panel is worthy of framing, it's so well drawn.

Read it, and enjoy

Romantically Apocalyptic

It takes place in a post-nuclear world, and follows the adventures of The Captain, Sniper, Engineer and Pilot.

Official Character Info Page:

CAPTAIN:
Image
Is he just damn lucky? Is he a real captain of a squad?
He is powered by imagination, he is greedy, arrogant, selfish, dumb at times and a kid at heart. He's similar to "the warden" character from "Superjail" series.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SNIPER:
Image
He encountered captain in the wasteland, having lost all hope in humanity.
The captain is now his only friend.
Sniper is a "Dr Watson" to Captain's "Sherlock Holmes". He's the realist as opposed captain's imagination, and is often tied into Captain's shenanigans against his own will. He's the "smart" character in the series from our perspectives, but his realistic view of the world smarts don't help him in any way as he doesn't have the Captain's luck on his side... only mostly nearby him.
He's the intelligent, kind, yet highly unlucky character in the series. He questions the captain's motives, but still follows him, having no belief in anything else.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ENGINEER:
Image
Engineer doesn't really care about stuff. He just wants to get something out of everything.
He knows of several reasons as to why the world ended.

He sticks with the captain and follows him around, because he believes that the captain is a lucky charm that will protect him against certain DOOM.
He's the witty, devious character in the series.
He's filled with sarcasm.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PILOT
Image
Pilot believes whatever the Captain tells him.
Pilot is a kid at heart, even worse than the Captain. He supports any and all of Captain's shenanigans, because he truly loves the Captain as one would love a god, a teacher, or best friend.
He flew with the captain on board once, and stuck to him ever since believing the Captain to be "The messiah".
Often he goes off on completely senseless missions sent by the captain.
He's the captain's absolute supporter. The avid listener to his stories. The devout follower of the captain's commands.
He's stupid and kind-hearted.
His mind has been severely damaged in the "test-flights" he participated in, where he served as a crash landing dummy.
Hm. The first five pages seem to be overpopulated or something, I can't access them.
Anyway, it looks like a decent comic. If I can get the first pages to load, I'll read through it.
Thanks for the tip.
Yes! I read all of it!
It's sad Pilot were just in one chapter, though. Image
The comic is lovable, I'll follow it. Image
Once again, thanks.
I read the first 25 this morning but didn't have time to comment. I love it! It's hilarious. The characters are so likable. It's a classic coupling of characters that's been done so many times before. It's like Ren and Stimpy in a post-war apocalyptic setting, with less revolting humour.
Glad you guys like it. :D
This doesn't really have much of a following yet, so if you could spread the word, that would be train-with-a-jet-engine-awesome.
See this fucking guy!
Yeah I dunno where the engineer is either. I assume there was concept art too...maybe he'll be in later episodes.
It's possible that the comic writer wants to implement that character, but they cant seem to write a decent comic coupling the main character (captain) and the engineer. (which seems to be the pattern ... only two characters at a time, one of them is captain.)
Because captain is utterly insane and engineer is bitterly sarcastic, intelligent, yet loyal according to the description. (which kinda conflicting ... how do you be intelligent, sarcastic, and loyal to an utterly insane guy? without the audience themselves questioning engineers sanity?)
It makes it hard for those two to interact in a comedic manner ...
The only reason I could ever justify engineer looking up to captain is if he ever mentioned the probability of a man so utterly insane and childlike being able to not only survive his hijinks, but also somehow thrive on them them is so utterly infintestmal that some unseen force absolutely must be at work keeping him and those who obey him alive. That why it could be seen as a logical reason that engineer is loyal to captain no matter what fucked up things he wants to do ...
Or maybe there is some sort of "method to his madness" that only engineer sees ... although the audience will still likely question engineer's sanity ...
Engineer and sniper however would be another story ... because sniper introduces the straight man factor with very little luck and engineer who is just simply smarter than engineer, yet so self absorbed he doesn't necessarily care for snipers well being.
or engineer and pilot might work as well ... not as funny though considering pilot seems so stupid he wouldn't realize hes being fucked with / used for engineers own purposes ...
