WOW! I haven't been here in FOREVER. Yeah, the Dropkick Murphys are good. Also check out Flogging Molly. I recently discovered Creed and the new System of a Down...

La la la I'm off of porcupine tree. xD The flower kings are the best musicians to ever grace the planet, though. And everyone else who is on my last.fm, aside from any of the heavy metal, and most of the people who you've heard of before.

Nah, Porcupine Tree is one of the best bands of today. Music these days is generally shitty. There are only a select few who I think demand some respect, and I'm not even old. I wasn't even born in the 60's, 70's, 80's, but I still think that is when the best music was.

No, no, don't get me wrong, Porcupine tree is great, but they aren't the best. They simply aren't progressive enough. On the scale of greatness, in relative order:

1.The Flower Kings
Kaipa
Ect... (Things with Roine stolt... damn, that guy is good)
2.Gentle Giant
3.Camel
4.Yes/King Crimson/Spock's beard/Dream Theater/Kansas (Basic Prog fare, you know)
5.John lennon/The beatles
6.Steve hackett
(and by transmission, Genesis)
7.Porcupine Tree
(blackfield, no-man, bass communion, ect.)
8.Mike Oldfield
9.Klaatu

And so on.
Edit:Roine stolt left Kaipa... Oh well.

***** *******? Cool. My name is ****** *******. Porcupine Tree aren't progressive enough? What the hell? How does being more progressive equal quality music?

How? Well, it doesn't make good music automatically. But I prefer prog over psycadelic. Porcupine tree is very good; next to the rest of sort-of mainstream music, it is uber-king. But they aren't the best.
