So... I'm still a bit mystified by the motivation behind all this effort... does the spam poster actually expect some Wolfire forum reader to try to purchase fucking Viagra through a forum spam link? Has that ever really happened?

Is the spammer's aim to merely show a certain number of hits on the linked address to some sucker to whom he has promised an effective advertising campaign? So that chump has paid the spammer to actually sell some of his (the "mark" 's) product, and now the spammer/con man can point to the hit-count and say, "Check it out: our ad campaign iz working! Soon your Viagraz will all be sold! We must continue our successful campaign, with you giving me moar moneys for success!"
