Huh. All I know is that the Alpha is very under-optimized as of now. Your specs aren't great, but it should be able to run at least. 1 FPS seems more like a bug than anything else.

As I mentioned earlier in this topic, the mac version can run many times as slow as the windows version running under windows on the same mac computer, likely due to the OpenGL drivers on the mac side. It could be that given the lack of processing power on the Macbooks that this is the same problem, just amplified.

What is your graphics card? (please click 'More info...' and 'Graphics/Displays'

I am not familiar with macs, but your specs seem kind of low to me. Other than what the others already said, you could try to lower the settings in the config.txt-file in the OG data folder like explained in the FAQ. Especially texture reduce should be increased (up to 4) and resolution (width/height) reduced.

Alright, it's a pre NVIDIA 9400 Macbook, running an intel integrated graphics chip, which is decidedly underpowered. Until Overgrowth is optimized more to work on low-end machines, it will be difficult to do anything to make it run better, and it will probably always be fairly slow.

Sigh, the openGL drivers on mac really suck.

I don't understand why apple doesn't put the effort in and bump the current implementation (2.1) up to the latest. I can get there on boot camp.

=(

EDIT

Although http://arstechnica.com/apple/news/2010/ ... builds.ars looks like support might be on the way!

• However this time we have an error that might be useful:

I also have that error on this weeks build, where I didn't on last week's.
