I can honestly say that i have atleast never anjoyed an indie game as much as i have enjoyed Ovegrowth.
And the only game that right now can compete with my eagerness for the full release of overgrowth is Battlefield 3.
Overgrowth, best indie game ever?

Best could also mean on a technical level, in which case Overgrowth would have a shot at being the best even at it's current state.istalkforcash wrote:By "best", you could be referring to the enjoyment you get out of playing. Such a criteria would be applicable to all games across the board, and therefore you could pick a "best" one in your opinion.
The only engine I have seen even come close to the Phoenix engine is the HPL engine (by frictional), which beats Phoenix by a mile due to it's scripting abilities, physics, and level editor.
But I'm sure it will be veeery close once Overgrowth is released!

Try comparing the animation, terrain, UI and blood effects while you're at it Different engines have different features based on the needs of the game.

The indie game I had the most fun with so far is Cortex Command.
