Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a187, weekly build
any linux users tried running it in wine?
Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a187, weekly build
I'm not a big fan of WINE, however i could try it but then somebody should give me only the windows executables. I don't want to have to redownload the whole thing as my internet connection is pretty slow.pure_krogan89 wrote:any linux users tried running it in wine?

What version of the Mac OS are you currently running? It currently needs to be 10.6 or highersandwichpolice wrote:Scrubby hills gets stuck on simplifying terrain. I do not know what the MSVC is,either.

Maybe it has to do something with using int (32 bit) in a 64-bit system (pointers are 64bits)?
Going from a 64-bit number to a 32-bit number can lead to another adress. When accessing this adress the system won't allow it and throw a Segmentationfault?
Or something like that. I rarely program in C++. But I was reading a article on 64-bit safety and that reminded me of the segmentationfault-thing in linux.
EDIT: I found out 32-bit users also have this issue. So ignore it.

Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a187, weekly build
I think I am running on something higher than 10.6. Or it could be that my computer isn't really that good.

Click on The Apple in the top left of the menu bar, then click 'About This Mac'. What does it say?sandwichpolice wrote:I think I am running on something higher than 10.6. Or it could be that my computer isn't really that good.

Not sure if this will be helpful to other Linux users, but I was getting a segfault when starting levels. I was able to work around this by renaming ~/.local/share/Overgrowth
I guess there was something in the old cache that the new version of Overgrowth didn't like?

didn't work. I have the game since 185 or 186 and I never got the game running natively on linux. On windows it works fine.

@Johannes
I'm running on 10.6.8. I don't know why it's not working.

Please see this post over here viewtopic.php?f=13&t=16079#p172846 The next alpha should have these crashes fixed once and for all.
