Now that i figured that out (see last post) and have removed massive amounts of programs from my partition where /tmp rests (is it really necessary to use this huge amount of diskspace for installation),
I can try to start the game.. try...
After selecting a map the program always aborts while listing the contents of the /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/ directory, but every time at another part of the list :?:

Seems like the game crashes whenever you use the editor and place the ''Thick Moss'' decal many times close to eachother.
Maybe decals and/or trees and other vegetation are requireing too much memory or something to make the game crash whenever there's alot of it in a small space?

Also often after having placed decals such as ''Thick Moss'' or ''Peak Rock'' or whatever I often experience that the decals get ''smudged'' and streched out all across the area. I will post some screenshots later on to show what I mean.

I have a Core i3 quad core CPU 3.5GHz, Nvidia 560Ti graphics card & 16gb RAM. Maybe not the most high-end system but good enough to play every game I've tried so far on maximum settings.

Make sure you don't have any other game controllers plugged in, like racing wheel, xbox controller or something like this, when you start the game.
There have been some people with the same problem that you have in this forum so you may find some useful info when you dig around.
Also when you have a game controller plugged in and you don't use it, make sure that it don't lie on the floor upside down with some buttons pressed down.

Hey,
Error on loading the wolf model:

Whenever i load a level containing the wolf model, i get suck on

Code: Select all

Creating LOD levels for:
Data/Models/Characters/IGF_Wolf/IGF_Wolf.obj
This also happens when loading a level not containing the wolf, but inserting the model by hand. In the edit mode.
(Same applies to Rabbit Guard v2)

The other character models load fine.

Am using Ubuntu64 with nvidia gtx560

Hi, i have recently preordered and downloaded overgrowth. in the game menu, when i try to choose a level, the loading screen stops at "getting path set" and i get the error message overgrowth.exe has stopped working, and that i have to close the program.

what do i have to do, to get the program to run properly?

You just have to delete or move the small_deciduous.obj_UV2 folder out of the Data/models/plants/tree/temperate and it should work.

Hello, I've just pre ordered the game, then downloaded it, then unpacked it with 7-zip. When I launch the Overgrowth.exe, I get this message: Error Retargeter file "Data/Animations/retarget.xml" did not load correctly.
I've searched the forum, but I think it got blown off as a Linux problem, and I could not find a stright answer.
I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, if that helps.
Pleases and thank you, whoever can help me with this problem. Saw some footage of the game, and wants to play really much :D

I am not sure but at first i suggest you to check that your windows don't have a user with weird characters in his name. Like öäüõ or special keys like !"#¤%&/()=? or who knows what else.

Yes, maybe not the right place, but that's not important right now.
The best thing you can do is install SUM Launcher - This little tool wil make your life much easier to make changes in the config and maybe the the best thing it does is, that it can automatically keep your game up to date. Oh and one more thing. With this launcher you can install so called Main menu mod
