Unofficial Overgrowth a196 build
Unofficial Overgrowth a196 build
The unofficial, Overgrowth a196 leaked build is here! Note, you can also download it on your Humble Store page now!
Changelog:
- Removed MSVC 2005 dependencies to fix "side by side configuration" errors
- Fixed all known unicode errors and removed unicode warning
- Fixed Angelscript caches not updating when include files are changed
- Fixed Awesomium keyboard input
- Removed last remaining ODE dependency
- Fixed shader preprocesser issue with baked imposters
- Fixed crash when loading a level that has no script
- Added main menu toggle to config file
- Added mouse sensitivity value to config file
- Progress on placeholder object spawn points and previews
- Completing a challenge level triggers level-end screen again
A "leaked build" is when John and I grab the latest SVN build and package it up for you guys. It has a ton of known bugs, so don't worry if it doesn't work for you. It is not condoned by David and Aubrey but we want to keep you guys in the loop and give you stuff to play with regularly!
If you find any bugs, please email a full description along with your system specs to [email protected].
*NOTE* Please remember that these are unofficial alphas and they do not represent a finished product. They are not polished builds, just straight up raw development dumps.

Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a196 build
For new users
- If you have not installed Overgrowth yet you can use the SUMLauncher to do so!
- If you already have Overgrowth installed you can use the SUMLauncher to update it to the latest alpha.
- The SUMLauncher also allows you to install the Menu Mod which gives you another 150+ maps to try.
- If the menu files were changed in this alpha, the menu mod will no longer work. Updating the Menu Mod (to re-enable custom maps) might take us a little while. Once we have uploaded a new version you can use the menu mod installer to update it. (And don't worry, it won't break anything if you try running the installer before we upload the new files.)
- It may also take us a bit to update the Menu Mod to include any new maps that this alpha may have added.

Woohoo! Overgrowth works on XP again!
Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a196 build
Redo and undo seem to be faster. ( I think) I don't know if you did anything with that.
Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a196 build
Since downloading and installing 196 I can't load any levels without getting a crash to desktop with the message

I'm getting an error that says. the application couldn't start correctly (0xc0150002). What does this mean?
Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a196 build
You can just play that version then, in my eyes there was no visual change other then the end menu, but other then that it shouldn't matterstmpix wrote:Yes it didakazi wrote:Did 195 work for you?stmpix wrote:Since downloading and installing 196 I can't load any levels without getting a crash to desktop with the message

I've just realised that you're talking about the unofficial release 195, which I don't think I had installed. I just clicked update today and it automatically installed this. Was this not designed for mac version?

Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a196 build
Yussssss! That's a super awesome patch!
It finally works great. Previous one didn't work on XP and previous 20 or so patches didn't work on my Cyrillic named profile, now it all works and creates the user folders and such!I can remove the second Latin named profile now =)
So happy! =D
As to ODE, there is still a message on loading screen with the Logo: "Adding terrain to ODE world", but it may be just the text =)
And yay, now the bug where your first keyboard key press didn't register is gone now =D
And the level end screen is total awesome, glad to see it back. Also I like a ton the perspective for options menu, it seem to allow endless number of alternate keys, that's just brilliantly smooth!
Thank you a ton! And Good Luck! =D
Edit: would also like to say that the font you picked(made?) for the game is pure awesomeness!

What 195 were you talking about before then?stmpix wrote:I've just realised that you're talking about the unofficial release 195, which I don't think I had installed. I just clicked update today and it automatically installed this. Was this not designed for mac version?
Here is a quick checklist to see what is wrong. Did you download the mac build? I would assume so, since it seems you were able to open it. The game is designed for windows, mac, and linux, so it is indeed designed for mac. Is there any other information you can give about the crash? Are you using SUM launcher to update?
