We're actually descended from a rat-type creature. So are apes. We're not descended from apes. We're just descended from the same creature. (Apparently all/most mammals are descended from the rat-type creature)

Maybe you should listen to your biology teacher more closely.

The first mammals were kind of similar to small rodents. But from there they diversified. So mammals have the common ancestor "small rodent". But humans and modern apes had the common ancestor "ape".

Imagine it like a timeline:
small rodent_______________>apes______>humans and modern apes

The whole point about Lovecraftian creatures is how different they are from anything seen before. I don't know about you, but I see people pretty much everyday. No idea how you get the idea that they could work as Lovecraftian horror bosses.

They simply don't fit in the game. Especially not as bosses. If you introduce a completely new kind of enemy, only as boss it just screams: "Well, we ran out of ideas. Here! Have something completely different that is not motivated by anything that has happened in the game up to this point. Have fun!"

Humans as custom characters is great.

* as we know it; maybe they come up with a meaningful way to integrate humans in the story. I doubt it though.

Don't know what animal i prefer from the animals in the game allready. Not gonna play wolf if you still one hit all the time as it is now. Guess I would play a squirrel, Ninja turtle or Sid from Ice Age.
