Sorry to butt in, but in my opinion whether you are referring to number of posts or actual time spent in this forum, it really amounts to the same thing, which is that because skofo has less "seniority" than you he is restricted in what he is allowed to say. I agree that maybe skofo was being a little pugnacious, but you're equating it with irreverence, which doesn't really seem that relevant. Being rude is one thing, but I don't think it has anything to do with some kind of seniority in a forum, no matter what the seniority is based on.Glabbit wrote:I wasn't referring to the post count. If I was, I'd say 'check the post-counts' and not 'check how long you've been here'.Skofo wrote:You're saying that you're the more "elite" person here because you have more posts...Glabbit wrote:Check how long you've been here, Skofo, please do.
Then check how long the people you've been talking to have been here.
Give me a break. Get off your high horse.

Re: Lugaru in Overgrowth's Engine?
So, about porting Lugaru's script and levels into Overgrowth? Really, it seems like that's all that would be necessary.

See if you can guess what our first idea was.Jeff wrote:You guys are right on. Lugaru had a great run, but it is not exactly a best seller and it is way more valuable to help spread the Overgospel (coined by Enzan) than as a $19.95 product. We are not too worried about Lugaru 1 sales any more and are trying to think of creative ways we can use it to help spread the word about Wolfire and Overgrowth. We currently have three ideas that we are going to try out (two within the month, and one longer term).
I'd be really interested to hear if you guys had any suggestions, before I reveal some of our ideas.
Re: Lugaru in Overgrowth's Engine?
What were your other two ideas? Just curious.Jeff wrote:See if you can guess what our first idea was.

They're coming, later
It's all part of the master plan.

Are you going to use the sales to fund a death ray?
Re: Lugaru in Overgrowth's Engine?
You've mention his master plan before, Jeff... I'm getting very curious now... >:3

Sorry to respond to something said two pages ago, but I think there's a good answer here:WingedWolf93 wrote:Does it means that Lugaru 1 will be freeware after release of Overgrowth?
1) Even if Lugaru was freeware it would still be copyrighted
2) A mod of Lugaru into Overgrowth would be considered Use With Permission because we just got Jeff's blessing in this thread, so as long as nobody tries to sell it you're good
Re: Lugaru in Overgrowth's Engine?
Hah! Well summed up. I guess that means there's a good chance something like Lugaru 1 will eventually appear in Lugartoo... Haha! Yes! *punches the air*

I don't think it takes talent, I think it simply takes a will.Renegade_Turner wrote:Not everyone can mod. You need talent to be able to grasp things like programming etc.
Re: Lugaru in Overgrowth's Engine?
I think it's a great idea, that will hopefully be very easy to directly implement.
If the Scenery/story was overhauled a bit, like adding more fights / making use of the more advanced scenery capabilities that Overgrowth will sport / etc. then it will take a good bit more time of-course.

ok, ranting about talent and will aside, Lugaru definitely needs to be done in Overgrowth's engine. not just because it would be "cool" or because it would bring Lugaru to the "next-gen" but because it would really show what our community's made of. Sure we've made campaigns for Lugaru and full new sets of challenge levels BUT if we can overhaul Lugaru (campaign, cutscenes, challenge levels and all) to the Overgrowth engine, it will show that this small community is that damned dedicated to their indie game and will DEFINITELY have a positive impact on the press and the general consumer alike.
