I think when he is installing hes OG into different folder or different drive not into the default folder then he don't need administrator rights, right?
Right, I figured as much. The problem is the SUMlauncher cannot dynamically switch to being able to run without admin privileges.
We'd have to make a separate version of the launcher that doesn't require admin privileges. It'd be a bit of a mess (what happens then when this non-admin version tries to edit the admin folders for people hat accidentally download it?) a lot of work, for something that only affects a very tiny amount of users - only those few that don't have admin access on their computer.
It's just something that may not really be worth spending time on, when keeping in mind how many features we still have to implement that would benefit -everyone-.
• Revised SUMLauncher to be able to run from any location.
• Added ability to select/reselect Overgrowth install location.
• Added ability to download full Overgrowth builds (downloads are resumable in case of a lost connection).
• Added MD5 check to completed full Overgrowth build downloads.
• Added option to redownload/update current alpha revision.
• Added ETA to alpha downloads.
• Revised Windows 'My Documents' folder detection.
• Added ability to load Overgrowth install path from Windows registry.
• Greatly increased robustness of bad-connection (or no connection) handling.
• Rewrote all server-contacting methods to have timeouts.
• Added check to ensure Menu Mod installer is receiving good data before transfering files.
• Added 'View Blog Post' button when new alpha is available.
• Many more general bug fixes / minor additions.
You can grab the download links in the first post - since this update changes how the SUMLauncher works, those of you who have the old version must delete your current SUMLauncher and download the new one!

Only if you are updating an older version of SUMLauncher. Version 1.7 does require you to delete the old version, and replace it with the new. But this should only happen when moving to 1.7.

Nice! I'll add that to the opening post again =)
One thing you need to add at the very beginning though, is when you launch SUMlauncher and you do not have Overgrowth installed, it will give you the option of selecting it, or downloading it completely. (this would happen right after they enter their preorder key)
We'd like people to use that instead of the forum links, because (As you mention later in the video) it's more robust than the direct download link, since it can be resumed. It's a good alternative for those that don't want to use a torrent client.
Hey everyone! I just pre-ordered the game and played it for a day or two and it ran perfectly fine. But since I installed SUMLauncher I've been having problems with weird shadow effects. I used this forum's search function to find a solution, which brought me to a post earlier in this thread explaining how to delete the cache files. I followed the instructions, and it worked. That is, until I closed down Overgrowth and opened it up again. The problem came back, and now deleting the cache files doesn't seem to fix it. I've tried rebuilding light maps and even re-updating the alpha, but nothing seems to fix the problem. Can anyone help?
