Agreed.
As an opening statement, it is my opinion that The Beard Has Been, and Yet Still Is, in an ethereal, in-our-minds sort of way. It is currently less powerful due to being less incarnate, but still has power through the True Believers' Bearded avatars.
Perhaps one day it will steer us so far that we bring it back in its original symbiotic yet magnificent and powerful form, possibly in its former glory, and possibly in smaller pockets of influence, incarnated on our, the Followers' faces.
