Hrm, is anyone else unable to change the resolution? I was able to for the last two alphas but now changing config.txt has no effect
(Linux)

Edit: Hah, I'm dumb, just noticed the changed data directory.

Well, the update works great.
everything is smooth and works perfectly.
but everytime I try to load a Custom map, it says the folder "Wolfire\Overgrowth\data\characters\Rabbit" should be called "rabbit" and not "Rabbit"
so I checked, and the folder called "rabbit".

dafuq?

First, I was among the first to preorder Overgrowth but being a Linux-only person I did not really have a chance to check it out yet. That said, I am really pleased to see a Linux build finally available :D

But: I am unable to load a map. The menu works fine but when clicking a map I get:

Code: Select all

Error
Texture file "Data/Textures/Terrain/red_hills/red_hills_c.tga" not found. Default texture loaded instead.
Followed by:

Code: Select all

Error
Could not load image file "Data/Textures/Terrain/red_hilld/red_hills_c.tga
After that the game quits. Console output:

Code: Select all

$ ./overgrowth.bin.x86_64
Allocating 1 threads for texture conversion
RGBA bits, depth: 8 8 8 8, 24
32 texture units supported.
GL_MAX_VERTEX_UNIFORM_COMPONENTS: 16384

Hardware threads: 2

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'boost::exception_detail::clone_impl<boost::exception_detail::error_info_injector<boost::lock_error> >'
  what():  boost::lock_error

Any ideas what could be wrong?

UPDATE: looks like my installation was broken... whatver this nixinstaller thing was doing. Why don't you use MojoInstaller?

Game is still not working - guess Mesa-based drivers are not supported? :|

I get stupid errors like this:
Case Error! Documents/Wolfire/Overgrowth/Data/Models/Environment/Furniture/shop_tall_table.obj.cache should be Documents/Wolfire/Overgrowth/Data/Models/Environment/furniture/shop_tall_table.obj.cache

Whenever i attempt to load a map i get this error

"Compiling bool WantsToThrowEnemy()
ERR: playercontrol.as (147, 24) 'charmods' is not declared
WARN: playercontrol.as (149, 21) 'mod_response' is not initialized."

When i click continue it says
"Could not compile script: Data/Scripts/playercontrol.as"

Then it closes

No library dependency issues here (Arch Linux), and no graphical issues (GeForce GTX 275, nVidia binary drivers). However, physics interaction is an absolute FPS killer - during combat the framerate jumps quite wildly between 30 and 60 FPS, and when someone gets knocked out, performance falls down to ~5 FPS for a few seconds. I get very good FPS with minimal physics interaction - on the Red Shards map (which has no NPCs) I get between 110 and 200 FPS until I try to hit my head doing late somersaults.

BTW: Thanks a lot for porting this.

Yeah my post mentions you should ignore that one by clicking Ok.
Oh, sorry, didn't see that :) ....

I just tried this update with a fresh new install.
I get a lot of error about the automatic texture conversion
I'm on windows and I have download the installer with the torrent.

Very strange.
Some maps won't load at all (the game quit).

Screenshots :

[EDIT] Installed it 2 times again, I still got these errors.

You had mod mod installed before you updated your OG to a 180 and now you don't have this mod. there are 2 choices for you now.
1 install mod mod again.
2 i think mod mod should now have a option to uninstall, but for that you need to download mod mod and look into the zip file for some clues how to uninstall it.

Yes. The mod mod has been updated to a180 now. I had that problem too, but AAorris updated it quickly. :)

Getting a lot of case errors on custom levels like:
Case Error! Path/To/File.obj should be Path/To/File.OBJ

And then when I go check that file, it IS in the correct case that the error is asking for.

Using Overgrowth Windows version + SUMLauncher's Main Menu Mod on Macbook Pro 7,1

Hm, for some reason a few of the default maps refuse to work, it seems to have something to do with the Banner prop, as any map that has this prop gives me

Code: Select all

Could not load image file
"Data/Textures/Environments/cat_props/banner_w.tga
Before it does this it also has a lot of other errors about cat couches and such, then this error comes and when I press OK like the rest, it shuts the game off. I've also tried spawning said banner in other maps, and it causes the same error and closes out. I'm using windows 7, alpha 180, and I've reinstalled multiple times. It's not exactly game breaking, but it's a bit of a pain. If anyone could help it'd be appreciated.

For all you guys who has this error

Code: Select all

Could not load image file
"Data/Textures/Environments/cat_props/banner_w.tga
I made a possible fix for it. All you have to do is download and extract this file into Data/Textures/Environments/cat_props/ folder.
