Re: Showoff thread
if he only had his skateboard. xD
Re: Showoff thread
OpethRockr55, would you do us the honor of posting the the object/textures for that whaleman? He is truly epic, and I would like to include him in the user-created-content pack.
Re: Showoff thread
Here's a little taste of what I'm working on terrain-wise:
(did you see the little rabbots there for size comparison?
)
And a crappy little movie
Made in World Machine 2: Right now this is only a 512x512 texture(the limit for the free version of WM2), scaled up in photoshop to be 1024 and then plopped onto the standard 2048 Heightmap.
I've been having massive problemsrendering this stuff (it's a miracle i managed to throw this together correctly as is)
and especially with the snow, which is why it looks kinda odd and unrealistic right now.
Perhaps Sometime someone with a full version of world machine 2, and whose windows drivers don't majorly suck, could, out of the pure goodness of their heart, help me render this in its full-scale glory =)

Re: Showoff thread
Awesome! Yeah, I had a lot of issues with RAM when rendering also. I will PM you if I find the time to render it
Re: Showoff thread
Hmm, do you think the limitations of the basic version might be the issue? I tend to get random holes that like to propagate through the render. I've posted about it on the WM2 forum, since there was a pre-existing thread, but so far there doesn't seem to be any solution: http://forum.world-machine.com/index.ph ... 28#msg6128 however it does seem to be the case that others can render my terrain just fine...Ninjas wrote:Awesome! Re: Showoff thread
I get a lot of questions about the alphas and using the editors so I thought I should keep up my modding strength wrestling with XML files. I brought Rabboss back from the land of the dead and created a new monster called: Birdman. Both XML's are attached below so you may use, abuse and improve upon them.

Re: Showoff thread
I got inspired by John to make a character in OG. Though I think it got lost, I've been having massive trouble with maps not saving correctly for a while now, it sucks! I spent a few hours on this guy.. But anyways, I took a few pics.

Re: Showoff thread
I didn't know where else to post it, I am not really showing anything off but I didn't want to create a new thread.
Well anyways here it is.

Re: Showoff thread
Nice job Silverfish.
I recommend that people try try saving and loading test objects without sinking much time into a project.
Then once it seems safe, If you are going to try to make something fancy press ctrl-shift-s frequently to save multiple copies of your project as you build it (don't just overwrite the same file or you might end up replacing a good file with a corrupt one, stay away from ctrl-s for this reason). I saved birdman with ctrl-shift-s at least 9 times as I built him.

Why can't this be in the readme? D:
Re: Showoff thread
no one said what to show of so here goes completely off topic ;O

when you hover over the O button, a window like that shows up to preview :3 (yes it gets resized to square dimensions, its a preview anyway, maxed to 512*512)
