More detailed problem:
When trying to load an item from O2 or Object:
Nav mesh needs update
Baked shadow needs update
Ambient Occlusion needs update.
Those aren't errors, but notifications that you need to update those parts of the game once you edit a map. You can update the shadows and ambient occlusion by clicking on the edit tab of the ribbon, then clicking the respective buttons on the left (calculate shadows, calculate ambient occlusion). Afterwards, be sure to save the level (it should be ctrl-s on linux, but I don't know for sure...)
To recalculate the Nav Mesh, click on the pathfinding tab on the ribbon, and click on create nav mesh, then save nav mesh when it's done.

Just to be clear, all of these processes can take a while, so don't think that it has crashed while waiting on it.

If you pass a non-existing directory it will just use that. Also the installer packaging was redone a little so that the blasted installer doesn't need so much space in /tmp.. Basically I cut the needed space by half!! (which also improves the installer startup-speed). The updated installer is in the hands of Jeff now so the next alpha will have a much improved install experience.
You, sir, are awesome. Thanks :)

Hi,

I was wondering how i can uninstall the Linux alpha. I couldn't find any scripts.

The game doesn't start and i want to reproduce an error i had during the installation.
Something was missing and the installer offered to ignore it. So i did

I am running Kubuntu 12.04 btw.

Thanks for your help!

That's the way it's supposed to be. To update the nav mesh, baked shadows and ao, go to the "pathfinding" tab to do the nav mesh, and the "edit" tab to do the shadows and AO.

The game will freeze for up to a few minutes when calculating.

Hi this is my first time posting!

I was just trying to download this when it said I needed a code, I changed my Email since last time I had the code so I can't see it. I tried having it sent to me but its not turning up in my new email. Tried twice and checked it was typed in well but it still hasn't turned up in my inbox. Any ideas?

How long is it supposed to take to arrive? About as long as it takes to watch an episode of Game of Thrones? Cause that didn't work which is odd because in my experience that solves everything. Haven't played this in ages and I would love to try the game with a higher frame rate. Thanks!

Edit: Sorry didn't mean to quote you, don't know how I did that.
