Unofficial Overgrowth a120, weekly build

Post by Jeff » Tue Mar 01, 2011 9:25 pm

The unofficial, Overgrowth a120 leaked build is here!

Changelog:
ATI fixes
Not much else due to GDC + moving (sorry)

A "leaked build" is when John and I grab the latest SVN build and package it up for you guys. It has a ton of known bugs, so don't worry if it doesn't work for you. It is not condoned by David and Aubrey but we want to keep you guys in the loop and give you stuff to play with regularly!

*NEW* If you find any bugs, please email a full description along with your system specs to [email protected]. We are testing out a new bug system.

*NOTE* Please remember that these are unofficial alphas and they do not represent a finished product. They are not even polished builds, just straight up raw development dumps not intended for public consumption.

To download the alpha, use one of these links (please use the mirrors!) Note: the US mirror is not working

Win (exe): slow original fast EU mirror 1 US mirror 1 BitTorrent - please seed
MD5 = 5c5949607c4314913c6f4778b0f90439

Mac: slow original fast EU mirror 1 US mirror 1 BitTorrent - please seed
MD5 = 99aa7bd491fdd4ece413768e7cb0b4be

Please use the speedy mirrors, they are all graciously provided by Mow of FoCo Gaming and should provide much faster download speeds. They will also save us a lot of money. :D

Just want the changes from the last alpha to a120? http://cdn.wolfire.com/alpha/diffs/a120.zip

Note! No Linux support at the moment -- we are waiting on Awesomium for these. AJS says that Linux support is on the horizon, but we cannot make any concrete estimates for it. In the meantime, we are working with the creator of Berkelium to switch to that, which has a Linux build, so we will no longer be dependent on Awesomium.

The links for the updates are currently broken. This might have to do with the a200 (a120) typo.

So will this fix the random blackhole that appears where the sun normally is for ATI users?

EDIT: The links have been fix'd.

It says a200 in the auto-updater too. I there any GDC footage?

The new level now works.
It's fun to screw around on.

What kind of hardware (processor, video card, and ram mainly) and OS are you using? I only get 350 fps max without objects loaded, so it might be a compatibility issue with the video card.

I don't think the majority of the updates in this patch will effect me, but I want to be up to date for the next alpha so I can just dl the change .zip :lol:

The downloads for the alphas are not working for me for some reason. It starts decompressing the file really early then says decompression failed. I am running a Mac OS 10.6.4
Edit: Basically same problem as above.

For ^ and ^^, the only way I've gotten the alpha to work is through the EU Minor or the torrent download. Hope this fixes your issues as well.
