Improved Ledge Climbing

Post by RoboBanannaHead » Fri Jun 03, 2011 4:09 pm

I was thinking that when your jumping large distances, with your hands by your side, and suddenly, when you cling on to a ledge, your hands are in front of you. Maybe, if while you are in mid air, holding the left click button, as you would to get ready for catching a ledge, would make you bring your arms forward as if you were preparing to grab on to the ledge?

Could be nice, although don't you mean right click?

something i was thinking of too was have certain materials that the player can grab onto and then climb up or down.

Yeah, nice idea.
Though I think this should only happen if he is moving towards a potential grab, because otherwise you can make Turner look silly while flying through the air. :P

True lol, but that's why it should only work when you push down the right click button so he doesn't do it automatically and look like an idiot all the time, just when you want him to grab :D

What about it only working on certain surfaces.
For example if the cliff edge has a gravely surface, your hands would slip and fail to grip and you'd fly off.
