not to mention that Steam is a glorified DRM-service with a browser and shop integrated... :?

I use SUMLauncher to open Overgrowth, but I purchased Overgrowth on Steam. Therefore, it will log hours for me as a Steam game.

However, if I open Overgrowth through SUMLauncher, the game will not log hours and will not have the Steam overlay (even if Steam is open). Does anyone know what to do about this?

Do what you have to do in SUMLauncher (download maps and stuff) and then just launch the game trough Steam or the shortcut Steam has created.
Should be quicker most of the time anway. How often are you going to add stuff to the game? Probably not every single time you launch it.

That happens when you try to use the Steam CD-Key instead of the SPF forum key from Humble Bundle. Details should be in the first post on this thread (and multiple times throughout this thread).

I would suggest trying to delete the SUMLauncher cache files by removing the files at C:\My Documents\Wolfire\Overgrowth\SUMOGUtilities
then relaunch the application. You'll need to re-enter your authorization key when you do.

Don't you just love it when you buy a game for full price and wanna get some mods but its so goddamn complicated, then when you install it somethings wrong and you cannot find a single fix after countless hours? Well that seems to be the case for me. Should've trusted the reviews on steam, i'm refunding this.

Well you bought an alpha, so that's not a very big surprise.

If you actually read the tutorials that are stickied on pretty much every forum related to the game, you wouldn't have any trouble.

But reading seems to be a massive problem for people on Steam in general.

I am using my freshly downloaded SUMLauncher and my unique alpha key from 2009 (fuck steam!) and it tries to download alpha 220. And then it fails with
Error loading content from server. null

Looks like something is broken on the server end.

I had that issue with loads of the SUMLauncher community content, I tried installing it every day and eventually it worked. It was rather odd and only occurred on larger files, like the texture block packs

SUM isn't updating the alphas, or even detecting the new ones. It's stuck on 219. Any idea what's wrong?

I tried doing File > Re-update current Alpha but just got negative array index error:

"Error loading JSON array
JSONArray[-1] not found."

Here's the full error log:

How come when I try to open sum launcher after downloading it, ( mac) it says " "SUMLauncher" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash.
