I was looking at this web site after pledging for Wasteland Two and was thinking hey why don't we have something like this?
Re: http://www.google.com/moderator/
To clarify this is a way to post ideas and have people vote them up and down. This would also help in that there would be a list for the devs to comb through make a sticky of 'yes no or maybe' ideas.
Re: http://www.google.com/moderator/
I think this may work well for OG. I do see that minecraft already have one, but i don't know how many most wanted suggestions they are working on or have finished already.

An intriguing setup. I find it sounds like it's worth a try at least.
With the reminder that Wolfire should not in any way be bound to adding in the community's suggestions unless they really want to. Any other way would only be causing needless distress to both parties.

Absolutely. If that were true, we would see OG transform into an open world MMORPG within the first month. I feel like the general consensus of approval/lack thereof is usually pretty apparent in the rest of the thread, but if we had some sort of counter that appeared next to an idea thread when it surpassed a certain approval threshold, it would make better threads stand out more, so the devs would only have to look through the good ones. Speaking of approval of ideas,

You have to understand that this could potentially alienate ideas that could also benefit OG, simply because no body saw the thread or didn't care for it.
Society may know what they like within a game, but as a majority, they don't know what's good for one.

Very poignant. I see people say things like "THIS WOULD BE AWESOME IN THIS GAME" all the time, and while it may be interesting or fun or have worked elsewhere it simply doesn't always fit/work and is often RIDICULOUSLY impractical to implement.ZeeDubs wrote:You have to understand that this could potentially alienate ideas that could also benefit OG, simply because no body saw the thread or didn't care for it.

It'd be nice if people thought about features they want from a dev perspective before asking
Having said that a system for feedback is an interesting idea, but ultimately the Wolfie team should definitely do what they think is best.
And whoever mentioned openworld PvP MMORPG is dead right, people keep saying things like this and don't realise how ridiculous it is. NOT EVERYTHING SHOULD BE A MMORPG GUYS. I think a SEMI-openworld could be nice though (More Twilight Princess than Skyrim). I think avoiding a level choosing screen would be great apart from picking challenge levels or perhaps specific timed missions in singleplayer or something.
Hope all that was coherent I'm starting to forget what I'm going on about
Re: http://www.google.com/moderator/
Thw thing is that most fans don't know what they are talking about. Giving the community too much power has ruined alot of games.
Alot of ideas that sound good won't work well in-game.

Re: http://www.google.com/moderator/
Well no matter what the community says, the developers have absolute power. This would just bring more attention to popular ideas, for developer consideration.
Re: http://www.google.com/moderator/
at the very least it would rid the forum of all the stupid feature request threads... plus make it easier to search for previous suggestions.
Re: http://www.google.com/moderator/
Well spaked, sir.
That would indeed be a neat little clean-up.
