Am I the only one noticing this, or is it normal:
There is a new "auto-lock" feature in this alpha that locks onto other rabbits, but also onto dead ones. I get this annoying glitch and it has kept me from overgrowth for a bit now:
I'm in Desert Bridge. I jump and choke the rabbit on the right. I jump to grab to other one when suddenly me camera goes wack and I accidentally jump off the bridge.

On my old HDD on the exact same system I have Windows 7 64-bit installed and I'm not having that error there. I don't know if the error has something to do with 32/64-bit systems or if it's because of a recently installed system but I thought it might help the investigation anyway :-)
Same here i go to the Overgrowth file and i click on overgrowthworker but it says that the configuration is wrong tell me later if its the same with you

i doubt that's the problem, seeing as i am on x64 aswell.

(there are no native x64 binaries, so it runs as x86 anyway)

You, sir, are brilliant. This really needs a sticky of its own, at least until 183.
Khopesh wrote:When I ran i was getting the error saying that it could not run OvergrowthWorkers.exe, when I went to directly run OvergrowthWorkers it gave me an error saying that it was a side by side error. After looking around a bit i went into the Microsoft.VC80.CRT folder in the game folder and opened the file Microsoft.VC80.CRT.manifest in notepad++. I changed line 4 from:

Code: Select all

<assemblyIdentity type="win32" name="Microsoft.VC80.CRT" version="8.0.50727.4053" processorArchitecture="x86" publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b"></assemblyIdentity>

This let it work for me. All i did was change the version it was expecting to what OvergrowthWorkers.exe wants. I am on a Win7 64-bit machine. I tried this on a Win XP SP3 machine and it didn't work. Hope this helps.

So i tried this hoping it would work, but it wont let me save the changes. It keeps saying i should check if the file is open in another program which i know it aint.
This might be to little information to work on but there's really nothing else that's wrong.

A quick response would be greatly apriciated.

When nothing else helps try to restart your computer and after that make the changes and try to save. (maybe the file is still in use and don't close itself when the OG crashes)

So i restarted the computer and still it refuses to save. It still shows the message that its being used, could this be because of the launcher?

My Problem is that when i tried to load my custom made level when i was on alpha 179, i keep getting:

"XML could not load type unknown: Type"

What does that even mean? How can i fix that? Also, how can i get rid of the Case error spamming?

So I guess I'll just go ahead and post, because I've ran out of options at this point. Downloaded this build today, tried running. However, I always get "Overgrowth.exe has stopped working" as an error. I've tried the previous build, 181, with no success. I've tried deleting the config, no dice. I've searched on the forums but none of the topics about it have been answered or provided a solution that I tried and did not work. I've tried using the SUM Launcher, and tried updating the 181 build to 182 with it. Also didn't work. There have been times where I've been able to see the main menu (this only happened twice mind you) but it would instantly freeze right afterwards.

If there is anyone who has this problem and fixed it, or could even suggest something that I could do to try and fix it, it would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: While looking in the actual files for a specific error log, I happened across this under "awesomium.log" after I tried AwesomiumProcess.exe.
[3736:4804:17559815:WARNING:ipc_channel_win.cc(148)] failed to create pipe: 2
[3736:4804:17559815:WARNING:ipc_channel_win.cc(45)] Unable to create pipe named "5224.0476D600.600200958" in client mode.

Then upon looking in the error log on my computer, I stumbled upon:

All the logs I've checked have contained Awesomium.dll as the faulty module, so may or may not be a connection. I'm not sure if it'll help or not.

You have to make sure you have proper permissions for it
Right click your Wolfire folder > Security and give yourself full control.
