Unofficial Overgrowth a183, weekly build
Unofficial Overgrowth a183, weekly build
The unofficial, Overgrowth a183 leaked build is here!
(watch in hd)
Changelog:
- Added 'case error' alert toggle to config (off by default)
- Added 'process pool' toggle to config (off by default)
- Initial per-level award tracking
- Progress on savegame file saving and loading (not exposed yet)
A "leaked build" is when John and I grab the latest SVN build and package it up for you guys. It has a ton of known bugs, so don't worry if it doesn't work for you. It is not condoned by David and Aubrey but we want to keep you guys in the loop and give you stuff to play with regularly!
If you find any bugs, please email a full description along with your system specs to [email protected].
*NOTE* Please remember that these are unofficial alphas and they do not represent a finished product. They are not polished builds, just straight up raw development dumps.

Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a183, weekly build
For new users
- If you have not installed Overgrowth yet you can use the SUMLauncher to do so!
- If you already have Overgrowth installed you can use the SUMLauncher to update it to the latest alpha.
- The SUMLauncher also allows you to install the Menu Mod which gives you another 115+ maps to try.
- If the menu files were changed in this alpha, the menu mod will no longer work. Updating the Menu Mod (to re-enable custom maps) might take us a little while. Once we have uploaded a new version you can use the menu mod installer to update it. (And don't worry, it won't break anything if you try running the installer before we upload the new files.)
- It may also take us a bit to update the Menu Mod to include any new maps that this alpha may have added.

Yay! A working alpha!
Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a183, weekly build
Hi I'm still having the same problem I had with the previous alpha. When I try to launch the game from SUMlauncher, the game doesnt load properly. Here's a screenshot of what happens:
Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Does the same issue occur when you run the game without the SUMLauncher? If so, what happens if you right click on Overgrowth.exe, and choose "Run as Administrator"?Lakhuton wrote:Hi I'm still having the same problem I had with the previous alpha. Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a183, weekly build
Hi, i've only been onboard with OG since a182 but I'm getting really low fps.
1-5 in combat.
Im running a Macbook Pro 2.26GHz, 8GB RAM, Nvidia 9400m. Is there any known fix to make it run smoother?
Thanks!

Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a183, weekly build
The game still just says "not responding" when I try to start it. Lots of other people seem to have it too, so I hope a fix can come out soon!

Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a183, weekly build
Can't say how grateful I am that those error messages are finally gone
In regards to the debug text process pools being turned off and award tracking turned on, can somebody link me to a thread with a more detailed explanation on how to tweak those please? I'd appreciate it
I like the award tracking system but I don't always want it up and I can't figure out how to turn it off...

Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a183, weekly build
FINALLY! Thank you for making my game error free! I can run pretty much every map including the menu mod maps with no problems what so ever. But, I was just wondering what the added feature named the "process pool" is? I turned it on with the SumLauncher but I could not tell much of a difference in-game.
Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a183, weekly build
When you look that alpha changes video again then you should see and hear where you can turn this debug thing on and off. So keep your eyes open, like all the time.main_antagonist wrote: In regards to the debug text process pools being turned off and award tracking turned on, can somebody link me to a thread with a more detailed explanation on how to tweak those please? Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a183, weekly build
can somebody tell me what dependencies (Linux) Overgrowth has? I get the "trying to compare to nil" error and i read somewhere that its because of missing dependencies.
Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a183, weekly build
run ldd or readelf -d on binaries and it will give you info about dependencies served on a platter. Not sure about what packages you need since some distros use different names.Arakash wrote:can somebody tell me what dependencies (Linux) Overgrowth has?
