It's no longer accurate since people can download Overgrowth without having a forum account, IIRC. Any way, while that is a big number, I'd like to point out that it's been gathered over several years. Development started September 2008, about 45 months ago. So assuming they've had about 4 people working on Overgrowth since then, that's about 1,000,000 / 4 / 45 = about 5,700 $ per person per month, ignoring all development-related costs, tools and computers. That's less than what an average game developer makes in the US.
