It's no longer accurate since people can download Overgrowth without having a forum account, IIRC. Any way, while that is a big number, I'd like to point out that it's been gathered over several years. Development started September 2008, about 45 months ago. So assuming they've had about 4 people working on Overgrowth since then, that's about 1,000,000 / 4 / 45 = about 5,700 $ per person per month, ignoring all development-related costs, tools and computers. That's less than what an average game developer makes in the US.

of course it will, the devs are way into their work to stop now, it may take another year or two before release though. (but then again this is a small team of 4 developers)

2 and half official guys (out of four) working on the game though at the moment. though Jeff mocks up Ui stuff for David when needed so I count him as half because he's not full time.

Yo! just did it today, was a great idea too since i got exams and i can't access bittorrent from my uni! is there any kind of online bittorrent so that i don't have 2 wait 8 hours for this to download?

You don't have to use bittorrent.
The simplest and recommended way to download and update the game is to use a little helper program called SUMLauncher. Just install that, run it and it'll take care of Overgrowth and its updates

SUMLauncher can only update the game.

You can download the initial game itself without BitTorrent though.(Although BitTorrent should be faster, not slower o.O)

Just click 'Direct link' next to Download type on your preorderer panel/Humble Bundle page.

Alternatively, you could go to the download thread in this forum, named "Unofficial Overgrowth a199 build" and click the regular 'Download' button under your chosen OS.

SUMLauncher can only update the game.

That is incorrect. SUMLauncher can install a fresh copy of the game under the file menu, even if you've never had it installed. It also has the ability to resume a download, if it fails for some reason.

(The only addendum to my statement is that the Windows installation method changed for a199, and it may take a couple days for us to update to the new installer method.)
