Hello!
I have been playing overgrowth, setting up combat scenarios for myself, specifically Stealth scenarios, yet i never effectively sneak, they seem to notice me before i get close enough to chokehold one.
So, share your Stealth Tactics & Tips here!
Any help would be good!
Stealth Tactics and Tips?
Re: Stealth Tactics and Tips?
I jump towards enemies to choke-hold them. You can take them out quickly yet noisily by choking them a little and then sweeping their legs.

Huh... Ill try that out, i just discovered that you have about a second or so to chokehold enemies after they notice you.Timbles wrote:I jump towards enemies to choke-hold them. You can take them out quickly yet noisily by choking them a little and then sweeping their legs.

The reason they notice you early is that they are able to hear you as you approach. But yes, there is a small delay after they see you when you are able to still grab them. Usually what I do is sneak up to them by crouching, which is quieter, and when they hear you and turn around, rush that last distance. I also jump that closing distance before they hear me, and land right behind them, but you have to be far enough away that they don't hear your jump.

I have been crouching, actually what helps is if you tap the forward button, so it goes slower, it helps a bit, but it seems its impossible to just get right up behind them...Anton wrote:The reason they notice you early is that they are able to hear you as you approach. Correct, you can not get right up behind them because they hear you. There is a way to turn on a debug feature where you can see the sounds as they are being created, and you can see how far away you can be before they hear you. The option is called: Display Sound Spheres, and you can turn it on in the config.txt file (or by using SUMLauncher).Shadow207B2 wrote:I have been crouching, actually what helps is if you tap the forward button, so it goes slower, it helps a bit, but it seems its impossible to just get right up behind them...
