When does the error occur? Right when you start up the game, or halfway through loading a map, or what? We also may need some system specs, please, it can help with bugfixing, but I have a few tips that could help with your problem.

1. Try downloading the latest alpha and reinstalling from there
2. Try getting the SUMlauncher and launching it through that (It is stickied to these forums)
3. Some users that have special characters in their usernames have trouble opening the game (Characters like Ø). If so, you might have to create a new user without special characters in the name, only using the regular english letters.

by the way, way to steal last's profile picture, :D

I get this too, reinstalling, using SUM, and I myself don't have any special characters in my username. I've also been having this for a while, and its stopped at "hardware threads" like his did.

Sorry I couldn't be of much help.

Last thing you might be able to try (although it most likely won't work) is fiddling around with the config file which can be accessed through SUMlauncher.

Finally try reading this topic for information on how to report the bug to the Wolfire team.

It's not about whether the system is powerful enough, it's more about what Graphics Cards and CPUs are supported by the game

What is with people making these "Help me!!!" topics and then just forgetting about them in the middle of when we are trying to help them?

By the way lately Intel HD 4000 graphics cards haven't been working so well with the game, which are used in loads of laptops, so if you have one of those you'll just have to be patient and wait until they are supported.
