Lettering in shadow?

After generating shadows and ambient occlusion in my level, I found this strange lettering.

Search for "always initialize your memory" on the wolfire blog, it seems like an old bug has made a comeback. Not sure if i got the title exactly right.

The bug there only seems to be on Mac. I'm running Windows XP. Or maybe there's something I missed...
