HOW DO I UNINSTALL?

Post by DJBoomstick » Sun Dec 06, 2015 10:26 am

Okay so your new update broke the game, so I want to uninstall this garbage, but "overgrowth.exe is open" and it won't let me delete it. It isn't in task manager, so how do I delete your guys new virus?

You're a genius, ya know who would NEVER think of restarting a computer when this crap happens? Guess what buttercup, still won't get off my computer. I love my $30 viruses.

It isn't a virus. It is a game.

Gee, way to be a dick.
Like, I get not enjoying the game and all, but you can easily get a refund from Wolfire's customer support.
You can delete the files from where you installed them.

Why not wait for future updates to see if they fix it?

Why are you downloading an Alpha and expecting perfection?

Why are you being rude for no discernible reason?

So many mysteries.

How to delete/ uninstall
PART 1: NON STEAM

Step 1: first, own a PC (if this is unavailable, please skip to step 300)
Step 2: turn on PC
Step 3: use mouse, touchpad or other navigation software to move the cursor ( often in arrow form) toward the file(s) you wish to delete
Step 4: click the left mouse button
Step 5: click it again, it often takes 2
Step 6: option a- hold left click and drag over every file in the folder. Option b- ctrl/cmd+A.
Step 7: press the key marked either delete or backspace.
Step 8: wait
Step 9: wait, this could take some time.
Step 10: still waiting. Why is this file so big?!
Step 11: ok it's done, now if there is a message labelled Overgrowth.exe is open, close overgrowth, if it isn't, close the error or skip the file
Step 12: it should be done, maybe
Step 13: bitch about how long and stupid this post I have written is
Step 14: continue with day to day life, you shouldn't have to worry about pesky old OG anymore.

PART 2: STEAM

Step 1: repeat previous walk through's stages 1-3 though instead of navigating to the folder, navigate to steam
Step 2: right click Overgrowth in your library
Step 3: press, "delete local data"
Step 4: repeat previous walk through's stages 12-14

Step 300: the f*** are you doing here?!

I can assure you that Overgrowth does not qualify as a virus.

We don't do anythig particular with users system that should cause the .exe to become unremovable.

There are mutliple reasons why this might occur, some possible hints here:
