Stuck Characters Issue

There's this problem with the AI at the magma arena where I'm guessing they try to grab onto the ledge but slowly sink into the geometry. Can't fight them anymore and they don't die so the game's stuck on that. Those black boxes are a character behind certain geometry.

I have a similar issue with the Waterfall Arena. An enemy NPC will fall through the ground layer and leave me waiting there until I knock myself out. The only way I know of to reproduce this issue is to mess around in the arena until an enemy drops through the mesh.
