I've told my super artist friend dude, who ended up pre-ordering and even posts on these forums occasionally.
Re: How good of a salesperson are you?
Just because I have other things I'd rather do than market somebody else's game doesn't mean that I'm a bad salesperson.
But I did show the game to my bro and a few friends.

I kind of gave up when I couldn't get anybody interested in Lugaru. :C

I joined the ops, made a thread about it on Facepunch Studios, spammed the holiday link in the chats I usually hang out in, linked to the holiday deal in my MSN nick, and I'm nagging all my friends about it.

I have a friend who I introduced to Lugaru, and he thinks it's awesome, so he's also pretty excited about Overgrowth.

You guys are awesome!! Word of mouth is not only the best advertising, it's also free.

Yeah, I had that in the back of my head every single time I was talking about Lugaru with/to/at someone...Jeff wrote:You guys are awesome!! Word of mouth is not only the best advertising, it's also free.
"Dude... I'm advertising some game that isn't out yet to people who may or may not be interested for some company which I've taken a liking to without really knowing any of its members personally, and I'm doing it for free!"
Re: How good of a salesperson are you?
That's why it's so powerful. If you hear about Overgrowth from a friend who has not been paid or otherwise compensated for sharing it, it's very meaningful. It comes from the heart -- not the bank account.
Re: How good of a salesperson are you?
I guess that does count for a lot.
But for me, the greatest part is watching this game become more and more awesome (in the original sense of the word), while basking in the honey-dew content knowledge that I've already paid for it and practically already have it.
I toast... *raises glass*

I eat my toast off of a plate, not from a glass.Glabbit wrote:I toast... *raises glass*
