Subcultures continued... small update

Post by Adeline » Tue Feb 03, 2009 2:14 am

I've watched Overgrowth develop from the sidelines for some time, but never have before stepped in to get involved. However, I am really interested in the development of the different subcultures and wanted to put in my 2 cents.

So I sketched up my idea real fast.

I didn't really draw him to be any certain animal - - kind of looks like a dog or fox - - but I'm more interesting in his style of clothing. Think a group of various species banded together but all with masks and similar dress.

They could be part of a kind of hit squad - - a pay for hire kind of group with no clear alliances, they go for the highest bidder and are not honorable fighters in any way.

For the story element, they could be temporarily be working for the wolves

I can agree that the super tall stilt sandals look fairly impractical, I can't really imagine what this guy would look like walking. However I like how he balances on top on them and added to his faceless mask, he looks dangerous.

Heres what combat with one of these guys might look like. Trying to put those crazy stilts to use.

update: I widened the stilts and added some kind of metal plating on the ends,

Looks pretty cool. The stilts could easily have some sort of base added to them so they'd be a bit more practical perhaps. The idea of a hit squad might be interesting, depending on what the story in OG is like.

Maybe even have a mod where you have to play as one... Stealthy mod...

The stilts look a bit silly, but I can imagine that adding some kind of twist to the combat with them.

Love the mask.

If it is a rat or smaller animal of some kind, maybe they wear the stilts because they are shorter than the other races. The band of assasin/mercenaries makes everyone equal by making them the same height?

Or they just look cool. Either way.

It does indeed look cool.
But, sorry if this may burst any bubbles going on, don't those kind of stilt shoes usually have two stilts on each shoe?

I dunno, just seems more logical to me. Also I saw such a thing in Princess Mononoke and the image of that footwear never left me. ^-^

yes and no, like you said, I've seen those kinds of sandals with either two or one stilts. I don't think it matters much, he looks more crazy with one stilt.

There are ways to be silent, you know. ;)

Very, very awesome.

Very unique design. I think this would be an awesome boss to fight, maybe the higher the rank, the higher the stilts.
