Changing release estimate to TBD

Post by Jeff » Thu Feb 12, 2009 3:19 am

Hey guys, I am taking off our estimated release date of Q2 2009 from the site and changing it to "to be determined". We do not really know when OG is going to be ready and in the last week especially we have been really demotivated by a number of fans and un-fans alike who enjoy pointing out what a difficult task meeting our previous estimate is going to be.

The truth is, it doesn't matter. We don't have a publisher or any external investors (except you guys ;)) so there is no reason for us to force a certain release date. We will release it officially when we feel that it is ready and no sooner.

So, as always, if anyone wants a refund of their preorder, please let me know. Don't be shy, it is not a problem.

Thanks as always for your support and believing in us! :D

Bravo. You have balls.

Anyone disappointed by this news is retarded because we will be able to play the beta version long before release so we will be getting our fill of OG.

:D

You mean it won't be out until it's finished and doesn't suck? I'm disappointed in you, Jeff. I would have expected massive feature cuts, ignorance of glaring bugs, and draconian digital rights manufacturing, but now you pull this crap.

Patience is the key to victory.

Get a refund if you don't like the situation. Would you rather have an imperfect piece of bat shit or superiously superior game of the ultimatum universe. Your choice :l

Please keep releasing the alphas though, with more and more features everytime, and most of us will be happy.

Are you kidding me? These guys are making this game so modifiable that in a few months I wouldn't be surprised if we had all the tools needed to make our own game!

It's people like you who are going to ruin the alpha Tuesdays for everyone.

Wolfire for the Win.

I get proven right once again, not that anyone took any notice of me when I predicted it.

In any case, Woohoo! *positiveness beam*

I'm really glad you guys chose to do this, take as long as you need! i want OG to be as perfect as possible, so however long you need to make it that way is fine with me.

He was being sarcastic.

As long as you finish, it's fine. I'll continue my constant lurking on the boards

To those who can't see the sarcasm in the quote:
Wolfire has said it again and again: they aren't EA. =)
