lol you're just trying to ruin all of the fun.

0:45 in that Damien Walters video where he flips over the moving car. That's pretty epic. So that's who they get to do stunts in movies.

I also though the Rock Lee V. Gaara fight was epic enough, I thought it was paced nicely. Having said that, I hate Naruto.

I also never found Jedi Academy repetitive in the slightest, I thought it was always fun while I played it. Every fight seemed different to me, and isn't that what you want?

NARUTO. That's the dumbest fucking show ever. Sorry for the language, my sister is obsessed with it. I hate it more than I hate England. It's so pointless. An example of an epic fight is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmjaWn-pVvI. I think that needs to be in OG for the shear Epicness of it.

I did a quick Firefox awesomebar search for "What makes a fight epic" and I got this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmjaWn-pVvI

A lot of an epic fight is based on the length as well. A long fight with multiple come-backs and acrobatics will be much more epic than a quick fight even with the same techniques.

Edit: Found another comment on a webpage. An fight becomes epic when a character manages to survive an extremely strong attack against all odds. Obviously, this would be hard to implement because Turner has to die eventually, but during boss fights, maybe there could be a "down" before you die? Something where Turner would get hit back in slow motion but eventually stand up to give it one last go?

Edit2:

While the fight itself isn't epic, the storyline and atmosphere make it epic.

Yeah, you should click the first link shadow717 posted above.
I personally think this is much more silly than epic, but I tend to react that way to most wire-fu movies

I found the fighting in Jedi Acadamy to work against fun gameplay.

Sure, it looks fluid, but that's because they animated in a whole preset series of beautiful moves-- so that rather than reacting and looking for openings and timing, you're just encouraged to mash buttons as fast as you can and hope your animation beats the AI's.

Lugaru's fighting system doesn't look as pretty, but for tactics and fun it blows that random style completely out of the water, IMO.

The OG upgrade to using your left hand and foot depending on which direction you're stepping, plus the addition of close-quarters moves like head-butting and elbows is going to make it the best yet again.

Okay, HERE is the most epic fight ever filmed:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1eFdUSn ... re=related

I think it's the music, or maybe the acting that makes the rock look heavy. All right, it's everything.

It's so hard to find clips of Avatar fights. People insist on making music videos and cutting the fights apart and putting them back together backwards. These are cool fights and I like them, but they still aren't quite epic IMO. Still, I can't think of a more epic animated fight with better choerography.
Zuko vs Zhao from the first season.
http://www.tu.tv/videos/zuko-vs-zhao
Zuko against the earthbender and cronies, in Zuko Alone:

Justice League, the animated series, has lots of nifty battles, but this clip is my favourite. Some big heroes of the league include: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lanter, Flash, Captain Atom, Supergirl... and Martian Manhunter. He's a green guy with various powers who prefers to stay in their watchtower and tell the others what to do and where to go. In this episode, trouble comes to watchtower, only to find him.

Have you heard the "Make a man out of you?" song of Disney's Mulan? Here's an awesome video synced to it. I enjoy this combination more than either of the originals. It's not a fight, but it's epic.

All of those fights looked epic, but they relied on magic and other skills that the world of OG doesn't have.

It might be better if we can find good martial arts anime if we're using them as sources.

I didn't see the last one, it's not available in the US.

If I knew anything epic and animated that had no magic and other skills, it would be in the martial arts references thread. :D

One of these might work, if you see the same results as I do. It should be Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann amv to "Be a man".

Hm, care to share what you find so dumb about it, other than that your sister likes it? I thought it was pretty damn well-made; the fight scenes are superbly choreographed, the characters are all very unique, and the whole ninja society system thing is very well thought out. The only thing I didn't like about it is the fact that it drags on and on so the story never feels like it's going places, which is why I quit following it a hundred or so episodes in, but other than that it's really entertaining to watch...

I agree that the fanbase can get annoying, though.

But english people...

...I said this before.

The only thing about Naruto I hate is the english voice acting. It's probably the greatest thing ever in the original japanese, but the fricken voice acting. AARGGGHHH

FRIKKEN BELIEVE IT YOU MUDDAFRIKKERS

As for epic- It's very very subjective. So the game itself has to be epic in different ways, then it has to be flexible enough to change what kind of epic it is.

I hate it because she's so obsessed with it, she thinks she's a ninja. It's sickening. She runs around all day screaming: NARUTO NOOOOOOOOOOOO! SAKURA AHHHHHHHHHHH! SASUKE OMNOMOMNOM! WE NEED TO GET TO THE LEAF VILLAGE AHHH! (More naruto characters followed by screams)

It's all she watches. She's so obsessed with it that she told all her normal friends she wasn't friends with them anymore, and that she would only be friends with Japanese people. I'm gonna put this out though: The Japanese version of the show is bearable. The British version however is uber censored almost to the point where they don't hit each other, which makes the characters all seem like wimpy kids wearing stupid clown suits badmouthing each other.

Oh wow, I lol'd. No offence. I feel for you, man.

She's likely to get out of that phase eventually, though!
