Humans

I searched for a thread like this but I didn't find one. So, I'll pop the question to y'all: do you think there should be humans in Overgrowth (including the past storyline- "humans created the anthropomorphics" and that stuff), and why?

Personally, I think they should be ignored entirely. Overgrowth seems to be set in a "realistic fantasy"* world, and adding some kind of science fiction background would take away the whimsical, mysterious atmosphere. Not everything has to stem from our Earth. Not to mention that it would add unnecessary work for Aubrey.

*realistic fantasy = fantasy setting without magic

I don't think humans should be in the main game, but I really hope it'd be possible to have them in mods.

I agree entirely. No humans. Not only would it put off the release date, it would take away what makes it really Wolfire.

I said it before, and I'll say it again. Humans should be rodent-sized, pudgy, and walk on four legs.

I said it before, and I'll say it again. Humans died out. Unless of course the Wolfire devs change their minds in which case the human(?)-made monoliths that Aubrey showcased in one or two blog posts become... =/

EDIT: Xerxes, what happened to your purple canine avatar thing? Or am I thinking of the wrong member?

And the devs are now furiously scribbling out the second half of their script where they reveal the humans are controlling it all and it's actually a freakish genetic experiment.

If the humans had long ears, a bushy tail, fur and could jump 10 meters, sure, why not?

Please no humans. None in any way, shape or form. It's a horrible idea.

Allow me to explain:
Simply put, anthropomorphic rabbits are silly. The concept is inherently ridiculous. However, if presented properly they can be taken seriously. One such method of presentation is for them to occur in a setting which is not the real world. In an alternate setting there is nothing to stop the creator from simply changing 'the rules' to allow bipedal rabbits and whatnot. A good example of such a setting would be the Redwall children's books.
But If you try and present your alternate setting as the real world then the reader/viewer/player will start applying the rules of the real world. And one of those rules is 'anthropomorphic creatures do not exist'.

...

Okay, that explanation sucks donkeys. Allow me to put put it another way:
Would the Redwall books have worked if there were humans? I think not.

Support for modded humans (that is, skeletons with weight on the heel instead of toes) is a must. They're not necessary for the main game, though.
