Interesting. I don't have Safari, though, but from a technical point of view it seems sound.

What's the point of the Toggle Chat mode button?

You really need to try it in Safari or it won't make any sense.

Why Safari? Firefox works on all of the platforms you plan on supporting...
Gecko instead of WebKit in OG:

Pros:
We'd have a Linux, PPC, and 10.4 build from Alpha 1 instead of Alpha TBD

Cons:
- Gecko's support of CSS 3 is not as developed as WebKit's
- WebKit supports a number of features useful to us that Gecko does not (masks, gradients, variables, reflections, transitions, transformations, etc.)
- Gecko is not as speedy and lightweight
- We'd have to spend a lot of time developing our own Gecko embedding layer instead of leveraging Google and AJS' work

Ahh, I see. I was under the impression that this used Safari-only features, not WebKit-only features. Furthermore, I didn't know there were even any WebKit-only features. My bad!

However, it doesn't seem to work with Chrome well either...

Chrome uses a version of webkit that is older than safari I think.

Also that works really well. I love it :D

It should work on Chrome on Mac OS X. To get it to work on Windows Chrome, you will need to disable the mask.

It looks beautiful, runs smoothly, and is slightly creepy.
