Unofficial, alpha 37 weekly build
Unofficial, alpha 37 weekly build
The unofficial, alpha 37 leaked build is here!
A "leaked build" is when John and I literally grab the latest SVN build and package it up for you guys. It has a ton of known bugs, so don't worry if it doesn't work for you. It is not condoned by David, Phillip, and Aubrey, but we want to keep you guys in the loop and give you stuff to play with regularly! Please report bugs in Trac! http://trac.wolfire.net/spf/overgrowth
*NOTE* Please remember that these are unofficial alphas and they do not represent a finished product. They are not even polished builds, just straight up raw development dumps not intended for public consumption.
New in this version: (see blog)
Also, press F to toggle wireframe stuff. Press 8 and 9 to toggle the Rabbot. Press ` for the console. Type Console.help() for the console commands. Press b to spawn a physics box, right click to drag it around. Press r to spawn a ragdoll and F1 for WebKitten.
We are testing out BitTorrent DNA! Please let me know how that goes.
Windows: (direct) (torrent) (BitTorrent DNA)
Mac OS X: (direct) (torrent) (BitTorrent DNA)

Note! No PPC, 10.4 Tiger, or Linux support at the moment -- we are waiting on Google Chrome for these. We are not sure when this will happen. Linux support is on the horizon though!

Ah, I love the decal saving features, they almost work perfectly, however, upon opening a map which has decals saved in it, I get a few errors like this one...
They really don't affect too much ingame, as far as I can see. However, the more decals, the more errors.
Secondly, when I do open up a map with saved decals, they turn out different, darker, or more intense. The screenshot below has the weird decals on top, and then they turn back to normal when you place a new decal.

When I click Lugaru2.exe I get the following error:
This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect.
And I'm using the windows version.

You need to have C++ 2005 SP1 runtime (32-bit) installed.cmann wrote:When I click Lugaru2.exe I get the following error:

Will definitely give this a try. Didn't realize the ragdolls were already implemented, or is this the first Alpha with ragdolls?
Also, anychance of a private SVN for us? It'd be nice to have it auto-update weekly. Of course, there might be security issues with that, so I'd understand either way. Not that I really mind downloading it from here. The 2MB/s download speed is awesome.

Heh, nope, ragdolls have actually been around for a good few alphas, since at least a24 in fact, but their accessibility has been varied depending on the alphaAciD_013 wrote:Will definitely give this a try. Tonjevic was maintaining an SVN site, but you'd have to hunt for the link and it's probably not going to be the latest version, since he wasn't able to do it weekly because of some issues with his bandwidth I think. Also he hasn't been very active recently.AciD_013 wrote:Also, anychance of a private SVN for us? It'd be nice to have it auto-update weekly. An official SVN would be nice, but don't think it will happen.
Downloading the alpha now... I do hope the slick menu bar that jeff showed off recently made it in.
Re: Unofficial, alpha 37 weekly build
The Ribbon menu is in, but it's not actually active. It's still fun to look at in Safari though... ^__^

I can't even rotate/scale my decals.
