Unofficial, alpha 49 weekly build
Unofficial, alpha 49 weekly build
The unofficial, alpha 49 leaked build is here!
A "leaked build" is when John and I literally grab the latest SVN build and package it up for you guys. It has a ton of known bugs, so don't worry if it doesn't work for you. It is not condoned by David and Aubrey but we want to keep you guys in the loop and give you stuff to play with regularly! Please report bugs in our Trac system!
*NOTE* Please remember that these are unofficial alphas and they do not represent a finished product. They are not even polished builds, just straight up raw development dumps not intended for public consumption.
New in this version: (see blog)
To download the alpha, use one of these two links:
Win: http://www.wolfire.com/spf-alpha/ insert your SPF key here /a49-win.zip
Mac: http://www.wolfire.com/spf-alpha/ insert your SPF key here /a49-mac.zip
If you have forgotten your SPF key, you can retrieve it at your SPF page.

Note! No PPC, 10.4 Tiger, or Linux support at the moment -- we are waiting on Awesomium for these. AJS says that Linux support is on the horizon, but we cannot make any concrete estimates for it.

I just used the "your SPF page" because I forgot my key and that is a great feature. It was very fast and well done. Can't wait to try the animator, I haven't downloaded an Alpha since 43 so I can't wait to see all the new features!
Re: Unofficial, alpha 49 weekly build
Screenshot looks sick.
Wish it downloaded faster, though.

My speed is fine, ~500kb/s.

Does the initial animation editor yet let you to save animations?
The amount of progress visible to us has increased in leaps and bounds. There's so much cool stuff I don't know what I should be trying out!

It might only apply to mine, but WinRAR noted that some decal files were corrupt. This was also accompanied by CPU-eating "CRC's" (for some reason I highly doubt my computer knows what it's doing half the time). The rest of the unzipping was fine though.

I get 1.2 MB/s. We have a fast campus network.Silverfish wrote:My speed is fine, ~500kb/s.
Anyway, I wanted to ask how you actually get the rabbit model in the editor. I haven't been able to find it, and I know there's documentation somewhere, but I don't know where to start looking.

Press the button for loading a new object, and look through Overgrowth\Data\Objects\ and the subfolders. There's probably one for characters. The object should be XML file, which tells the game where to find the 3d model, and the images used as map files.jfm429 wrote:I get 1.2 MB/s. Hm. It's 3:30 AM and I should sleep, but I'm downloading it. x3
Perhaps sleep while it downloads on my painfully slow Australian internet connection is a good idea.
