Detail Textures

Post by John » Mon Dec 07, 2009 1:21 am

Hey guys David has laid the foundation for detail textures. He will blog about it when it gets polished more but I wanted to give SPF a sneak peek.

Keep in mind that the textures you see here are generated from random photographs that David took of the ground with his digital camera. When we use fancy textures blessed by Aubrey, it should look even better:

They look really nice! Is it just normal mapping that they have?

Looks nice. Will we be able to paint on different textures in different areas or will the entire map use the same texture?

@Silverfish: :o

Yeah, that looks great. Can't wait to see it in action in the engine. As usual, great work!

Computer games don't affect kids, I mean if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music.
