What the actual f*ck o_O
Okay, so it's a post-apocalyptic desert, and the protagonist is a panda...
And apparently, it's not just a costume (the head actually emotes), but it's an actual panda.
Looks cool admittedly, but good luck getting funds! xD

Haha it's awesome. And believe it or not they actually have the funds now! Got $25,000 through donations :]

I thought the lonely wandering bear described in the first posts was just like it!

Best of luck to them! Hopefully one can get a hold of the episodes once they're done, could be interesting I guess.

I emailed David about a little stuff, the main issue is that it doesn't look like OG likes any skeletons that aren't IGF_turnerrig :/so as much as we can rig and animate all we like, getting it working in the engine is going to limit what we can do.

Ideas.

If these are added to the game,

Wolves would have to be nerfed (A few hits to kill, like Lugaru).

But, the bears could be super strong (1 hit kills) but slow.

Anyone agree?

It seems to me that the wolves are already weaker in comparison to the rabbits than they were in Lugaru, considering you can pit three unarmed rabbits against two wolves, and the rabbits will often come out on top. In Lugaru, I bet a single wolf could take them on.

Hey boys and girls! Been away on vacation to Sri Lanka for two weeks so I've been quiet for a reason :D

I just talked to Black_Stormy and, unless we can get something cool out of the Twitch stream where David animates, the project will be put on hold. He got the exporter working he says, but the engine may be hard-coded to only work with the accepted bone structure of the current rigs.
We just don't know.

So, unless the video reveals something new to us, we're just going to wait for the game to support our project a little bit better before we sink much more time into it.

Well, there's never been any talk about Wolfire including it, so there's no reason whatsoever to nerf the wolves in the official release. Could be something for future mods where the bear is featured though, for sure.

But speaking of ideas, I'd be happy to see if people has any feedback on the backstory I wrote (see the first page), or if you'd be interested to write your own and share it here. The bear is as you all know, without any clothing or objects, so it's still very much a clean slate. Maybe while we wait for the situation on the rigging to improve, we could create concepts and assets to maybe make a more comprehensive mod rather than just one character in the future.
Keep the ball rolling, sort of thing.

Did you see the Mexican Staring Frog? Oh wait, of course you haven't, otherwise you would be dead. Glad to have you back :D

I did not noticed that before seeing the pictures of the finger bones in the first post, but these hands and foots are not plantigrade hands and foots. Really, that's not a big deal, we're not playing a realistic game anyway, but I just wanted to mention it in case you consider it to be important and you can solve it easily. However, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be easy at all, and it would be a pain for only limited benefits. Perhaps it was a deliberate choice to model hands and foots like that anyway.

Just to illustrate what I'm saying (don't pay attention to the subtitle of this demotivator, and don't consider the facepalm meaning neither, I just found this picture when Googling bear hands):

Keep up the great work, your bear looks fantastic, can't wait to try it!

I was considering it very early on in the process if I should go with five or four toes/fingers. In the end, I didn't go with the anatomically correct thing since all the other characters Wolfire have added in the game have four toes/fingers. Also it is quite common for characters to have four joints in comics, so I figured that would be the best decision.

I don't think I'll adjust that, it would be too much work at this point. I already did one major overhaul before when I adjusted the UV-seams and it was not as easy as I initially thought.

Alright, I can understand your choice and I agree it would be too late to change that! Again, just wanted to mention it in case it was not done intentionally, but I was quite sure it was.

Keep up the good work. Image

You should have your bear make a video endorsing Overgrowth. Something about the "bear" necessities if gaming. ;)
