Custom dialogue animations

Post by halzoid » Tue Jul 28, 2015 10:53 pm

Hey!
so I may have completely forgotten about my animations for a long time...

BUT! I decided today to spew out as many as I could whilst making sure they were up to standards.
They are very simple animations, 1 frame to be exact, but they could be rather beneficial to those who are tired of using the same default overgrowth dialogue stances.

I have created a variety of different stances, for all different dialogue styles.
I wont be making a video showcase for this, as there isn't much to show (only 14 animations and only one frame for each). so I figured it would be a waste of time.

Here is the file containing all of the dialogue poses:
halzoids custom animations.zip
(39.7 KiB) Downloaded 69 times

And here is the link to my latest blender animation file:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/apbguldz3ivqh ... blend?dl=0

This time I have put custom before all custom animations so that it is easier to see what new animations are there

edit: (thanks for reminding me Timbles)
list of animations, with descriptions
[+] List
dialogue_breathless: Character appears out of breath, and has their hands on their knees.

dialogue_guard_swordprovoked: dialogue_guard_spearprovoked... with a sword...

dialogue_leaning_back_onwall: Character is leaning backwards against a wall.

dialogue_leaning_left_onwall: Character is leaning left against a wall.

dialogue_leaning_onpost: Character is leaning left resting their hand on a lower object.

dialogue_sitting_armsapart: Character is sat down, with their hands either side of them.

dialogue_sitting_handstogether: Character is sat down, with their arms on their lap and hands clasped.

dialogue_sitting_overledge: Character is sitting, arms apart with their legs dangling off a ledge.
I also forgot to mention in the original post, if there are any stances that I haven't created and you would like done, please just leave a comment/PM me and I will get it done as soon as possible.

If you do use my animations, please leave some credit. :D

Can we get some screenshots or a list of what the poses are?
'Cause I'm really thankful for this, at least. I'm doing a lot of stuff with dialogue right now.

Ninja Edit:
(Makeshift List of all the poses)
[+] List

dialogue_dying2
dialogue_guard
dialogue_guard_spear

They at least sound really useful. Thanks for this!

Another Sneaky Ninja Edit:
They'll definitely come in handy. Love the leaning poses, too.

Yes! New animations! I was considering learning how to get some of my own, but now I don't have to do that. Thank you!

If you guys can create thumbnails of all the animations, we should be able to put this into SUMLauncher... Which would mean you'd automatically get dependency credit for your animations, and it will make it easier for people to install... I think the community would enjoy it!

My dialogue editor is broken in Overgrowth, has been since the last update...

but, I decided to fake one in blender, it looks moderately ok, I tried to scale it to the character as best as possible it should look better when it is on a smaller scale on the SUMlauncher thumbnail:

That one will work for the download icon, but we also need icons to populate the Spawner, if you want them to be easy to load.

(i.e. you'd need one for each pose)

Yeah, and I think the default is 100 x 100. You don't necessarily even need to do it in Overgrowth, I think David exports his from Blender.
