you might be able to change the key bindings of the controller in the Config.txt file (documents/wolfire/overgrowth/data/Config.txt), but that would only work with the stretch sceen, not splitscreen as the other player wouldn't be able to look around

For local multiplayer, it requires a controller (or 2), there is currently no way to emulate two keyboards/mice in the game.

Any plans for this to be updated to the newest patch as it's now broken again?
