Mod: Hotspot Movement Mod(Download Added)

Hey guys(DevCraze again),

I have been working on a fun little mod which will expand the uses of hotspots. It still has a long way to go, but I am happy with it right now.

Current Features:
Adds: Jump Pad hotspot: It launches you up!
Adds: Boost hotspot: It increases your velocity in whatever direction you are moving.
Adds: Low Gravity: When you run into it, it toggles half gravity and normal gravity.

Very well done. A teleport hot spot would be interesting, you could link them the same way you link enemy waypoints.

a gravity direction switching hot spot, so like you'd hit it and you'd be walking along the wall in front of you then.

@Count Roland, unfortunately I already tried this, the overgrowth engine doesn't handle gravity shifts well when it comes to direction. It automatically assumes that down is... down.. it doesn't rely on gravity for anything, but flying direction when rag dolled and falling speed/jumping speed.

Really nice done! I shall use your mod for funny moments purpose. I thought Turner would have his head crashed into that wall at 1:07 min, XD!

you could draw a debug line between the connected hotspots :)

I might try that, depends though, I don't actually use the hotspot entity, I just save positions the player has been. We are unable to edit hotspot entity positions or get them from within angelscript, which makes me work around it.

What is "in progress" about the teleport? It looks awesome! For a new type you could have invincibility, super strength, super wallrun, double jump, and super jump, all of these using switches(like with gravity), so once you pass through it you have it forever, at least until you pass through it again.

Or if possible, you could do hotspots with powers granted for a limited time. Like timed invincibility and timed super speed.

I could add a timed aspects to certain things, but unfortunately (due to the lack of ability to communicate between scripts) it is very difficult to change core things other than gravity and movement.
