[Map] Shrine

Post by PatSilverFox » Tue Feb 21, 2012 8:50 am

A level featuring a cave, bridge, a few detailed Easter-egg-type areas and a glyph that "transports" the player character to the Red Shards. I created this map as a place to explore, not necessarily fight or parkour, although there are enemies searching around :)

Just place this in your Overgrowth Data folder and you're good to go.

NIce map it was fun, some good fights and i felt that the enemies we spread out very nicely. and that teleporter is crazy, how'd you do that? with that you could make huuggge maps that work with more peoples computers cause the map could be spread out over 2 or 3 maps. very cool keep up the good work

Cool looking map. I'll have to try it out. I downloaded Anton's Main Menu mod, but I still haven't tried any of the maps in it either

Load level hotspot with edited parameters. I couldn't decide where it would lead at first, in-case I was to make more levels, but finally i decided that in this scenario I could lead future maps of mine in a chain behind Shrine (backwards essentially), or even in more than one direction.
So many possibilities! :D

Fun level! Glad to play through it! Just one question for you (and possible fix), when you are on top of the red shards, behind the symbol to warp, there is a red looking blanket and it has a weird protrusion (a bone or something). I didn't know if you did that on purpose or not, but if you would like to only project a decal on one object, you can press 'i' while hovering over that object, and it will be the only one the decal projects on. (You can also hold 'o' and click on objects to exclude them.)

Also, added to the menu mod. Great map!

(I really liked the screen shot I took as well for the menu... posted it here)

:) The 'o' way to omit objects is a little more tricky than the 'i' version, but you will know it's working if the object starts glowing red, kinda pulsing (I think). But it might really be, hold 'o' and double click.
