Overgrowth Tournament Map (GDC 2012)

Post by Johannes » Sun Mar 11, 2012 12:46 am

Here's a map that Aaron and I made for the Impromptu Overgrowth tournament that we organized at the Wolfire Meetup during GDC 2012:

Image

It's made of two standard 'hex-crete' pieces in red shards, duplicated and re-colored with the color picker tool (cmd/ctrl+P). Players start next to the central Red area and each colored area on the rim contains one weapon - Sword on orange, Glaive on blue, Knife on green.

Also for anyone curious here is how the tournament went:

When you download the zip file and unzip it it will show you a folder with more folders inside it. this mirrors the file structure of your Data folder. You need to put the files into the respective location in your Data folder, so you'll need to replace the '4_red_hills.xml' file in your Data folder with the one in this download. Once that's done just load up red shards and you'll see it.

It's a file used by the Mac OS. It's an invisible file on macs that windows doesn't use so it shows up there. (like thumbs.db for windows). You can safely ignore it.
