[map] fight in the hills v.2.4 (updated)

Post by samjb1992 » Wed Apr 18, 2012 3:34 pm

this is the first map i have ever made.

the story is ur village is under attack by the dogs and their raider bunny masters but u have learned of were the raider bunny's leader is so if u live past the battle for the village then u can make him pay 4 what he did to ur tribe!

the leader is called the fight master and will be no easy feat to beat him, so follow the rabbit statues and he waits for u at the bunny rock!

have some fun with it and give me any feed back on the map.
if u have any Q's on installing any of it i will be glad to help.
sorry for no pics for some reason every time i try to take screen shots the game crashes no matter what map i am on it crashes when i take screen shots but if u want a video of the map in action let me know and i will post one.

UPDATE--- this map now has my new never uploaded sword on it, it is one of my coolest swords yet and if u try the map and like the sword and tell me i will make another weapons pack and put it in the pack along with 4 other new weapons so let me know or let me know how to improve any thing including the weapons.

oh and i could not get it on the main menu for some reasons i could read that script so you have to type in the name: brooks_forrest.xml to get the map up and running sorry :(

here is the download link

f7 is the Screenshot button, then they are saved in your install directory.

Yeah, for some reason the in-game screenshot button doesn't work on Mac. You can still use cmd-shift-3 to take a picture of your whole screen, or cmd-shift-4 to take a picture of a selection on a mac. (When using cmd-shift-4, pressing spacebar will select the front window alone, and align it perfectly.) By default these will be saved to your desktop.

Huh? Why isn't all of the content inside the same .zip?

It would be too big to post all in one file, and he probably hasn't heard about http://ogmods.antonriehl.com ...

So I've found a number of issues with your level and weapons. You didn't include the bone chain and whip in this installation pack, so we are missing that. Also, a big naming issue (and probably why you were having problems adding it to the menu) is that you have spaces in your file path, and object names. The main menu is an html document, so when it goes to look for "brooks forrest.xml" it would really be searching for "brooks%20forrest.xml". This is also an issue with basically all of your weapons. (Custom/my stuff/ etc). I've been trying to add this level to the menu mod, but i'm having to correct a lot of code to make it work... (The menu mod currently will add %20 to the name of any file that is being downloaded where there is a space...)

I suggest changing all of the files you have created to use an underscore "_" instead of a space. So your map's name would be "brooks_forrest.xml" etc. This will be much easier for everyone moving forward.

Also, I suggest keeping all of your object information inside of Custom/samjb1992 as "my stuff" in very non-descriptive while trying to share files with other people.
