[MAP]Lugaru challenge level 8 [update 2]

I am finished with the 8th challenge level of Lugaru, here is a new screenshot Image ImageI used ZramuliZ fire mod in the level but some parts are missing from the mod like the sound and the smoke because they make the game crash when I add them, I added the post dark shader that is in painted desert night, so it will look more like it's night. [EDIT] Zramuliz helped fix a few things in the level and added a zip of the things you need for the fire and stuff, so thank you ZramuliZ. :D I couldn't add the skyboxs and shadowmaps because it is to big of a file size to add. [Update] Fixed end-screen challenge menu not showing, fixed detail texure not showing right.

Yes it is, it's ZramuliZ fire mod that I added into the level, but I can't add in the fire sound or the smoke cus if i do the game will crash when I save the level then rejoin back in.

Man this level is tough. I still haven't beaten it, but it looks and plays great.

I wish there was a way to play all the Lugaru challenge levels in order without going back to the main screen. I think most of them are made at this point...

Added to the menu mod! :)

I love this level! It was always one of my favorites/least favorites, because of the challenge of it. When you beat it, you feel awesome, and when you lose... it's so disappointing...

This might be kinda tricky, but I might try to put all the Lugaru Challenges into a button, the way the dev team did for the new challenge levels...

killer map. Start by running up onto the foothills to the right of the spawnign location. Hang around for about 30 seconds until one of the guards ventures away from the pack. when he turns his back, jump at him, and choke him unconscious. then, creep up on the stationary guard straight ahead, he's holding a knife. You have to time it right so that he goes down and you grab his knife before anyone notices, but if they do, you can try the old "choke and kick" to drop him in one move. once you have the knife, the remaining 2 or three guards are simple enough, but be careful, throwing is risky business!

Oh lol oops.
I was watching all these updates coming in going "nooo... all that hard work re-organizing maps..." - I plan to fix the missing script files on all the maps in the menu mod, so don't feel obligated to do that, but if it's possible to download your maps with the new SUMLauncher, and use those to edit, it would save me a LOT of reworking your levels again...

That's what I did. I downloaded the maps from the SUMlauncher then did the changes using those. I didn't know you were going to fix the script thing. Sorry I didn't mean for me to put more work for you. :(

Ok, in that case, you just didn't package what you needed to, probably because you still have menu mod content installed. (not your fault, but we have no way to clean that up...)
Basically, if you look through this xml file, you'll see that all of ZramuliZ's content has been moved inside of the Custom folder. Also, your maps should now be located at Custom/akazi/akazi_s_lugaru_challenges/Levels - so, just the first upload you provided had things outside of where they "belong" in the new SUMLauncher layout. If these all match what you're doing, I'll update them as you go along.

Doing the script change is totally fine, and actually saves me work (although, i might be able to do it faster, because I have groups of files, and some automation going on.) - If you aren't changing anything else, I'll try to update your files as soon as possible.


Really, the only thing that can be bad is using old versions of the files, that point to old custom content locations. Just trying to make sure that all the content ends up where it needs to go. :)

Sorry for the confusion Akazi! I've updated all your Lugaru maps with the new ones you uploaded, and updated the script files on the ones you didn't. Let me know if they are looking correct for you...

(Unfortunately, the snow weight map is breaking things for me...)

Yeah the snow map is giving me an error, I just misspelled something in the level xml for challenge level 9 and 8: <WeightMap>Data/Textures/Terrain/lugaru_snow it was lugau_snow. It should be really easy to fix.
