[Map] Populated Eroded Plateau
[Map] Populated Eroded Plateau
I got bored, so I made a populated version of the old plataeu. All guards are armed and their posts are where they would most realistically be. Every area is accessible (accessible meaning not having to jump 5 feet in the air to reach) via stairs. You can also use this to screw around and spawn 5 wolves in the middle of the map, and watch as the innocent rabbit civilians get slaughtered as the guards try to fight back.
It took a while making this map, it kept on crashing, and making every area accessible meant having to go through the whole place.
Recommended to play on 195 because of the large amounts of NPC's.

Re: [Map] Populated Eroded Plateau
Ah nice i have be thinking of doing that myself when i try new build there was no lag and AI lag is fixed .Gonna go back to my old levels and update them with more AI and clutter. Level looks fun to play but when i got 195 i cannot type in anything to load up custom maps.

195 is not out yet, but there is a pre-build available for testing (as linked above). We don't know the specific changes yet, but the main things all revolve around the refactoring of old code, and using a new build system to keep all versions of the game in parity easier (as in, mac/linux/win).RagdollZombie wrote:195 is out? what does it do?

Ya, there's tons of NPCs there. I think I'll wait to try it until I can get a195. Looks cool though, and I'm really excited to see that many NPCs on a single map. Hopefully this will open the floodgates for more maps like it.

Re: [Map] Populated Eroded Plateau
I can't wait till the new alpha comes out
I had made a map earlier I wanted to make an npc war with 30 npcs(including player)but it lags so bad especially since i have a lot of stuff on the map but this will fix it!
I used to only be able to fight 2 enemies without lag but now i can fight more than 10!
Re: [Map] Populated Eroded Plateau
You can replace the eroded plateau map I made with a map in the Custom folders, some level in the front like the deathly forrest.

Re: [Map] Populated Eroded Plateau
Just wondering, how am I supposed to play this when I can't type in anything in the custom level.xml space in the main menu?
Re: [Map] Populated Eroded Plateau
Simple. Learn how to add a level into the main menu like some of us can.akazi wrote:Just wondering, how am I supposed to play this when I can't type in anything in the custom level.xml space in the main menu?
Hint: You need to edit Menu.html in Data/UI/mainmenu folder.
And i believe that Anton or i have written something about this into this forum, maybe even a tutorial.
Re: [Map] Populated Eroded Plateau
thanks I got it to show in the menu but the level crashes when I try and play it. People are having the same problem with levels crashing so I just will have to wait.last wrote:Simple. Timbles, I'm having some issues putting this map into SUMLauncher... maps with Item Connections still instantly crash for me in this alpha (a198). Do you want me to put it in without those connections, or wait and see if the next alpha fixes the issue?
Re: [Map] Populated Eroded Plateau
Get rid of the connections, it's nothing essential.Anton wrote:Timbles, I'm having some issues putting this map into SUMLauncher... maps with Item Connections still instantly crash for me in this alpha (a198).
