New to the game:) but how do I run the map after I have put it in the levels folder?

After you have put the ruins_of_forgotten_empires.xml file into the data/levels folder then run the game and in the main menu you see the load button and a tiny text box. Type there ruins_of_forgotten_empires.xml and hit the load button.

I've had that issue with a couple of different maps. I took the lazy approach and decided to just uninstall them and forget the issue within 5 minutes.

If you are using SUMLauncher, and running windows, there may be a few files missing from the default game that you can install. Check in SUMLauncher for the Shielded Stands installation. It should help solve your issue.
